Hello, dear friends! Music is a unique language that helps us express our feelings and emotions. In my lessons, we will learn to “speak” this language through drumming. Depending on your level here is what we’ll focus on: • Learning drum rudiments — the “alphabet” of the drumming language • Improving your technique, so your movements are confident and precise • Developing improvisation, so you can freely create and express yourself behind the drum kit And of course, we’ll play your favorite songs! This will make learning not only useful but also incredibly fun.

I am Lukas, a trained jazz drummer with a broad musical background. During my studies, I delved into various styles, including jazz, pop/rock, funk, Latin, and hard rock. I bring this versatility to my lessons. In my teaching practice, the focus is on relaxed playing technique, timing (microtiming), sound, groove, coordination, musicality, and improvisation. I start as much as possible from the student's interests, supplemented by an extensive range of methods, books, and self-developed practice material. The lessons take place in my little drum studio on Appelstraat, near the Roma in Antwerp! During my training, I was taught by, among others, Toni Vitacollona, Jonas Burgwinkel, Teun Verbruggen, Jan-Kris Vinken, Wouter Van Tornhout, Jan De Haas, Lieven Venken, Achim Bill, and Steven Cassiers. In addition to teaching, I am active as a musician with Cézanne, Naomi Celis, APOKALYPSO, and Away! Away! Are you interested in drum lessons? Don't hesitate to contact me.

Together we start from the beginning where many drummers start from. Motor skills, maintaining rhythm and learning to sense musical numbers. Drumming is basically determining how fast/slow a song is played, and when the transitions come. Learning to sense these things is the beginning of the first lessons. We start immediately on the drum kit, and you automatically acquire the knowledge while you play.

In these drum lessons the focus is mainly on playing technique of hands and feet and material. If you struggle with speed or you start playing, good technique is very important. A badly learned technique is also difficult to learn later. You get to know the drum set inside and out, the different types of sticks, the tuning of your drum kit, the choice of sheets and cymbals. I can also help you with the purchase of new material. The lessons take place at the student's home.

The world of percussion offers an endless array of possibilities. My teaching will depend on the student: whether they would like to specialize in certain instrument(s) or styles or become an all-round percussionist who is not afraid to dive in wherever music takes them. I think it's best for consistent development to have a plan with a goal in mind. Where do you want to be in 10 years? How to get there? What do we need to do for it each year, each month, and each week? At the beginning of each lesson, I would like to listen to what the student has prepared, and from there, we will figure out what steps are needed to make it even better.

If you've been eager to get better in drums and therefore studying all its different styles and genres, I definitely can help you with that! Particularly, I've studied in deep Tony Williams' and Elvin Jones' playing and the main drummers of the jazz era from the 50s to the 70s , so if you really want to improve that kind of vision and sound I can give you some great hints such as transcriptions, analysis, sound strategies and many video materials. Also, I am specialized in Funk/Hip-Hop music and that kind of groovy world. So, I've been mastering a specific approach to this genre as well. About me: I've been playing drums since I was 6. I got my Master Degree in 2022 at Salerno Music Conservatory (Italy) in Jazz Drums and Percussion. I've been doing the role of Assistant Professor at KCB with Stéphane Galland since 2023. Since I moved to Belgium I had to chance to collaborate and sharing the stage at the moment with Manou Gallo, Zap MAMA, Stephane Mercier, David Linx and various others.

Hello! I'm Nina, a drummer from Amsterdam. I am currently studying Drums at the Amsterdam Conservatory (Pop Department). I play in multiple bands and various session projects, including 45ACIDBABIES and Anna Joan + more. I work a lot with Hybrid Drums (SPD and triggers) and also teach Ableton. I love many different music styles, so you've come to the right place for any genre! The studio is located in the Q-Factory in Amsterdam with two professional drum kits and sound system. If all this is too far or for some other reason not reachable, lessons at home and / or online are also possible! We can work on, among other things: - Hand technique (how do I hold my sticks? Or which stick technique do I use for different music styles?) - Creativity (how can I eventually make cool drum parts myself? Or parts other than the ones you would initially come up with?) - Improvisation (lots of playing and trying!) - Timing, playing along with songs (with click tracks), how can I become more playful with the click? - Relaxed posture - Drum notation (learning to read drum notes) - New fills, grooves and beats - Sound (how do I tune my drums? which drum sound do I want for different types of music?) - Hybrid drums (working with samples on the SPD and/or triggers) in combination with Ableton. And of course we will play along to your favorite songs a lot! I especially hope that I can create lessons together with you that match what you like and what you would like to learn. All levels and ages are welcome!
