I offer individual flute lessons for students of all ages and levels — from complete beginners to advanced players.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, abilities, and musical interests, whether you are learning for pleasure, school, exams, or professional development.

In my lessons, we work on:
• correct posture and breathing
• tone production and intonation
• technique and articulation
• musical expression and interpretation
• repertoire adapted to your level

I also teach piano and solfège, which can be included in the lessons to help you better understand music theory, rhythm, and harmony, and to support faster and more confident progress on the flute.

My teaching style is clear, supportive, and structured, creating a comfortable learning environment where students can grow musically at their own pace. Lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, and adults.

The content of the courses will be adapted to the needs of each one. I practice improvisation for quite a few years, the Brazilian music (choro) is one of my specialties. My name is Matteo and I am an Italian flutist and musicologist, based in Brussels since 2010. I graduated in modern flute at 'B. Marcello' Conservatory in Venice and at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels with Barthold Kuijken and Frank Theuns in the Baroque flute. I hold a master degree in Philosophy and Musicology as well.

I hold a PhD degree in music performance at Cardiff University, School of Music.

From 2013 till 2015, I have been teaching at the Venice Conservatory "B. Marcello", giving yearly lectures and seminaries on the historical repertoire for the flute. Since 2021, I have been appointed music curator of Coudenberg Sound Box Fest, a music festival which aims at celebrating the Belgian music heritage and takes place every year at the beautiful archeological site of the former Royal Palace of Brussels.

I recorded for Warner Classics & Erato, and a soloist for Arcana/Outhere Music ('La solitude à deux. Solos and duets by G. P. Telemann' in 2018 and 'Affect is no Crime. New music for old instruments' in 2019).

I regularly play with leading ensembles and orchestras such as Millennium Orchestra (Leonardo Garcia Alarcon), Vox Luminis (Lionel Meunier), Les Muffatti (Peter van Heyghen), Coro & Orchestra Ghislieri (Giulio Prandi), Le Concert d'Anvers (Bart van Reyn), B.O.X. I like teaching music and Recorder.

Hello everybody! I'm Maria, a graduate in flute performance at master's level. Besides loving to play my instrument, I have a passion for teaching music and flute. I have had experience with children who were starting studying music and flute, including those preparing for their entrance exam to an academy! I have also worked with more advanced students, deepening the improvement of their base and technique in playing the instrument to perfect it always with a very positive working environment!

The aim of the course is to improve each student's level, based primarily on classical music ranging from Baroque to modern styles. These styles will, of course, be supported by the improvement of technique and expressiveness.
I am a person who takes the student's wishes into account, so I will do my best to meet everyone's musical needs. In addition, in addition to French, the course can also be taught in Romanian, Portuguese, and English.
