Hello, A bioengineer by training, I teach mathematics, physics and chemistry in two schools in the Brussels region (upper secondary). I also taught chemistry in exercise sessions at the Free University of Brussels as an assistant (Faculty of Sciences and Solvay Brussels School). Passionate about science and mathematics, it is with pleasure that I give private lessons (maths, physics, chemistry) at home for catching up, strengthening, surpassing or even to prepare for a central jury. Level: primary, lower secondary and upper secondary. My strengths: pedagogy, kindness, search for results and extensive experience in different French-speaking public education schools. My goal: to help my students progress with the aim of seeing them gain (or even regain) self-confidence. I live 3 minutes walk from Beaulieu metro, in Auderghem. Interested ?

I cater to each student's individual needs and capabilities. I help with school by also adding in my own worksheets to complete together which relates to the current work that they are covering In their syllabus. Each student is individual and would there be treated the way that they would learn in an optimal manner. I would spend a lot more time with the students before exams to ensure that they have a decent understanding of every topic that may appear in the exam. I often use past paper examples as a way of preparation. Considering my own international schooling, I do very much understand the high level of requirements of some syllabus.

The scientific branches can be a problem for students of 5/6th secondary. Thanks to my time at Collège Saint-Pierre de Jette (a school renowned for its scientific section in Brussels) and from my first 3 years at the Ecole Polytechnique in Brussels, I think I am able to understand and be able to explain in more appropriate terms a subject that may seem complicated at first sight.

I've been a researcher in the field of chemistry and chemical engineering for over 7 years now. Currently, I'm a postdoctral researcher at ULB in the chemistry department. I received my PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, UK. I can therefore provide tuition for any topic in chemistry, maths and physics, for both students and casual learners of any level. Classes are tailored to your needs, whether you need help to pass an exam or you want to deepen your udnerstanding of a particular topic. Classes are available for students at all levels and casual learners alike. You can bring along any problems or assignments you have or need help with, we can do practice exam questions, or I can teach you a topic from the beginning and provide a course-like service. Online classes are conducted via zoom or skype. We take notes using my iPad, and you receive a PDF of the notes we take and a video recording of our session for you to refer back to later. If you have any further questions, send me a message! I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello, my name is Nicolas, I am 39 years old and the audience I am most used to is that of preparatory classes for the grandes écoles, for mathematics courses in general. However, I also have experience in preparing students from the second to the third year of the bachelor's degree due to the large number of hours of lessons I have given as well as the many students I have followed. My teaching method consists of clarifying the course first, making sure that each definition and theorem is well understood. We then discuss the basic exercises and techniques, and finally, if the course followed is demanding, tackle more complicated exercises or even competition subjects. I arrived in Brussels in 2021 for a position at the University and am eager to share my interest in science with as many people as possible. My background and my research interests also allow me to intervene in physical sciences or computer science.

I am a 3rd year medical student and I am good at math and general science. I am aware that the first difficulty of these subjects resides first of all in the choice of a working method which is intended to be effective. I will first think of helping you develop a method that suits you best. Moreover, knowing that without passion there is no motivation, I will be the ally who will help you find a real source of interest in the sciences that we are going to demystify together. Finally we will find techniques for solving exercises that are effective and strategic.

With both a master's degree in management sciences and a bachelor's degree in computer technology, I currently work as a network engineer in a company in Brussels. Passing on knowledge has always been a passion of mine since high school where I helped my classmates as much as I could. During my higher education, I worked as a tutor in various structures such as Schola ULB, ILPlateform, Co-Study or independently. Do not hesitate to contact me for any additional information or to schedule a course. My method consists of reviewing the material with the student in order to detect their weaknesses and establish learning objectives. The theory is then put into practice through practical work (exercises or homework).

I first identify which points are problematic in order to increase the efficiency of the courses. Then, depending on the student's requests and difficulties, I re-explain certain poorly understood theoretical concepts and solve exercises with him. For the theory, I make sure to explain the material as I would have liked to have been explained to me during my studies and I review the points of the course from new angles in order to facilitate understanding. For the exercises, I first let the student suggest his method of solving because each problem can be approached in several ways and it is much more productive to start from the student's ideas. I favor understanding by heart because I consider that memorization is only rarely necessary in math and science. Once the material is perfectly assimilated, we retain it much longer than if we study it without understanding it. My engineering studies allowed me to better link the abstract concepts of mathematics and science to concrete problems. If the student needs it, I can therefore easily give many visual and intuitive examples in order to speed up understanding. What I offer: - A broad theoretical background: solid knowledge in mathematics (algebra, analysis, trigonometry and geometry) and an advanced understanding in physics and chemistry (rational mechanics, materials science, fluid mechanics, ...). - Didactic, interactive and personalized courses. - The pleasure of sharing my knowledge and ease in transmitting knowledge.

Having conducted international-level experimental and theoretical scientific research for many years (PhD University of Cambridge, National Physical Laboratory, Max-Planck Institute, KUL, and UCL) I offer tailored and adaptive tutoring in mathematics, chemistry, and physics. My main focus is in helping those pupils in their final two years of school who are preparing for university. I also specialize in preparing students for the Belgian medical entrance exam by actually solving the problems of all the past entrance exams and providing tips and insight for rapidly homing in on the correct answers. My philosophy is that science and mathematics can be related to each person's everyday experience. I try to provide insight and solid foundations so that students will not have to rely heavily on blindly memorizing large sections of their courses.

I propose a method of teaching that adapts to the difficulties of my students. I insist on concrete examples because, for many of my students, mathematics and theoretical physics are too abstract. I propose a teaching program including among others the assistance in the understanding of the courses, the preparation with the interrogations or examinations and tips or tricks facilitating the comprehension of the courses. My main goal and motivation is The success of my students.
