Hello everyone! I am Emanuel, a professional bassplayer based in Brussels. I Graduated with a Master diploma in Jazz Double bass in 2020 & I am currently finishing a Master diploma in teaching music. I have 8 years of experience teaching both privately and in schools. I teach both electric and acoustic bass and I am open and interested in all genres of music. My lessons are open to students of all ages and all levels. I am open to teach anyone who wants to explore the bass and share the beauty of music. In the lessons we can explore all kinds of music and all kinds of areas of playing. How to play basslines, improve your technique, how to improvise solo's, improve time-feel, eartraining,... All these elements can be combined to make you a better musician. My method of teaching is different for every student. It's very important for me to know a student and to know what he/she wants to achieve in order to create a specific program for them. Last but not least, my idea as a teacher is to create a friendly environment. Having fun is the most important thing in order to learn in a natural and effective way! The Contrabass is a marvelous instrument: powerful, subtle, demanding, astonishing. Graduated from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris in Jazz specialty and teacher (private individual / replacement in conservatory) for 4 years, I suggest you dive into the heart of his universe. For this I appreciate relying on a flexible method putting the passion and envy of my students at the forefront. Meet, establish a dialogue and move forward together towards a common goal: to have fun while making progress! My horizons: -The jazz double bass (walking bass, improvisation, sounds, repertoire, rhythm, theory ..) - the "general" technique (body position, right hand, left hand, flexibility, etc.) -the classical double bass (sound of the bow, phrasing, study of pieces ...) - "contrabassistic" culture (operation of the instrument, the undisputed masters, the repertoire in the broad sense ...) I am also an electric bass player (another wonderful instrument) graduated from the Marne and Chantereine conservatories. My method remains the same and I love to teach (and constantly learn) the greatest number of styles, repertoire, ranging from Rock to Funk through Pop, hip hop and Cuban music. Hi, my name is Jeremy and I've played music for 19 years, having performed over 200 concerts and composed with a wide variety of groups and ensembles across England and Belgium in many genres (Funk, R&B, Soul, Jazz, Rock, Alternative, Punk and more). I have completed 3 years of intensive bass study at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and am currently playing bass plus backing-vocals and song arrangement for Kids of the Elephant and Arrubio. In these lessons, I will help you reach your goals while having fun in the process, keeping the lessons structured and tailored to your personal needs. I have 5 years of experience helping students improve as well as specialist knowledge in a multitude of styles. Some examples of what you might learn include: - Correct hand positioning & posture for best performance and faster learning. - Learning your favorite songs quickly and easily. - Breaking down rhythms & dynamics - Understanding the role of bass playing in a band. - Understanding what makes a good bassline and composing your own. - Essential music theory for bass & more advanced techniques (eg: melodic techniques, rhythmic, slap bass, etc) - How to improvise, jam and play with other musicians. About the Lesson: Are you a music enthusiast that wants to start learning how to play? Are you an already good player but you want to further develop your skills?
