Trusted teacher: History and politics have always been a passion of mine and I am very much willing to teach anyone who desires any tutoring. At times it can be very difficult and overwhelming if you need to make an exam or write an essay - I can be there to help in case you need guidance! The goal here would be to make you understand history better, organize patterns in your head and possibly make you love the subject! This should definitely help in either expanding your worldview, or enhancing your history grades. I am willing to teach history (or politics/maatschappijleer) in Dutch or English. I have little preference in regard to eras or themes in history, but if you must know I especially enjoy political and military macro-history. The grand patterns throughout history fascinate me, with of course, attention to large events. No era or area is particularly strange to me, again, being able to process history is the goal here! The grand goal is to get a basic, intermediate or advanced understanding in one of the subjects. I could, possibly, rehearse with you and ask you how fluent you are in the topics at hand. I am fully willing to adapt to the student his or her academic needs. In case you wish me to help you in structuring or writing a history essay, then this, too is no problem!

Trusted teacher: Do you want to understand what is happening in music you hear or play? Do you want to improve your musical ear? Do you want to know more about important music composers? Then join my music course! We can start completely from beginning or adjust our lessons depending on your current knowledge. Usually, to get basic overview of music theory, students should go through all major and minor scales, to understand the system behind, to be able to write them down and to sing or play them on their instrument. Then, we can easily learn intervals, build chords and later explore other modes and methods of music analysis. Eventually, for the most devoted students, four-voice harmony arranging and counterpoint writing opens up. Our study time should be dedicated to music history as well. Theory of harmony was developing together as composition styles were changing over our history. That's why it's useful to be able to distinguish between major music styles, to hear the differences and to categorise world-wide known composers. Finally, we will also find time for solfeggio and ear training. Musicians use their hearing as an important tool for their musical activities. After scales, intervals and chords are saved in one's memory, ears become a good helper they can always rely on. While practicing a music instrument or singing, musicality is naturally developing. Then, the basic cadence sounds familiar, something many times heard. However, without theoretical knowledge, we cannot give it a name. We know it, but we don't know what it is and what other variants it has. After thorough study and practice of sounds and frequencies recognition, student can recognise any given resonance. Solfeggio training helps to develop rhythmicality, intonation, overall musicality and it's fun.

I have taken weekly lessons with Lorena for six weeks so far and plan to continue several more weeks. I am preparing for a two month trip to Portugal and Spain, so I really wanted to work with someone living in Spain, since all of my language experience is in Latin America. We have been focusing on conversation completely in Spanish. Lorena is good at explaining things in Spanish and correcting my mistakes. She has helpful suggestions of websites and other resources. We talk a lot about places to travel and typical food in Spain. I highly recommend Lorena as a profesora excellente!

Clara is an excellent French teacher, her knowledge of the language is formidable and she is committed to helping her students improve. She is very engaging and fun to learn from; she makes difficult concepts easy to grasp. Wonderful teacher! I am really grateful to have found Marouan. He is friendly, teaches in a nice slow but effective way, and replies quickly when setting up a meeting. I liked that he taught me the song I wanted to learn, as well as another one he had in mind for me, on the same lesson! I feel confident that I can learn quickly with Marouan if only I practice a bit in between our lessons.
