Singing Ethos:
My belief is that everyone can learn to sing when taught properly and holistically and can experience the joy of discovering the unique qualities of their individual voice. This is a joy which I share with my students and why I find teaching so rewarding. My experience is predominantly (but not exclusively) with children and I love to watch as their love for their voice grows.

What you can expect:
I believe it is important to teach with an emphasis on technique and vocal health, so from the first few lessons students learn about the body and the way the voice works. I address this through exercises and breathing techniques as well as songs appropriate to age and stage; (usually based around the appropriate ABRSM Grades). I strive to create a fun, nurturing environment where learning and confidence can be optimised.
I currently study with Sophie Grimmer, a highly respected and accomplished vocal teacher based in London who has performed at venues across Europe and London such as ENO. Therefore everything I teach my own students is informed by the world class tuition I am lucky enough to receive, (but of course adjusted so that it is age appropriate). This ensures that the tuition I give is always current and reflects the ever evolving industry standards for vocal tuition.

I am currently in my final year of study at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London having previously studied at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester. I hold a vocal performance diploma making me an Associate of Trinity College London and have been teaching part time for almost four years. Recently I spent six months abroad, firstly studying in Italy learning the Bel Canto method and secondly in Switzerland performing operatically with Berlin Opera Academy.
My training started when I began lessons at the age of nine and as I grew older I recognised the significant and invaluable impact this had on me as a child and why I feel strongly that children deserve to learn music. Through music lessons children can build discipline, sensitivity and confidence. Through properly developing the voice we have the ability to liberate our means for personal expression, story telling and communicating. It also gives us the opportunity to explore our authentic self and celebrate our differences, since there can be no voice quite like yours. Such skills are often overlooked, but teach us plenty about the essence of being human.
My favourite saying is: I don't sing because I am happy, I am happy because I sing.

BIO:
Silvio, born in 1986, is a pianist, composer and educator originally from Italy. He began studying classical piano at the age of eleven and went on to major in piano at the Conservatory of Lecce, graduating with full marks in 2005. After falling in love with jazz and improvisation when he was nineteen, he attended Lecce State Conservatory on a full jazz scholarship in 2011.
Silvio specializes in many styles of piano and has received numerous prizes at national piano competitions.
In addition to being a musician, Silvio has expertise in business. He graduated with first class honours (110/110 cum laude) in Economics and Finance from the University of Salento in 2013.
His album “Flowing” is the result of a prize in the music competition "Giuseppe Tricarico" (May 2016 - Gallipoli, Italy) which he won and which allowed him to produce this record. It was released in December 2018.
In September 2018 Silvio had the chance to lead workshops about jazz music in Santo Domingo at Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, National Conservatory of Music and Academia de Música de Patricia Logroño.
In June 2019 he was one of the Top Prize winners at the International Online Quebec Music Competition (Montreal, Canada), where he played his own composition called “Latin Jazz Etude – Una Noche en el Barrio”, and in July 2019 he won the First Place at the San Francisco International Innovative Music Competition (Summer Edition).
Since December 2018 he has been collaborating as sheet music arranger with a US-based website, the world's leading digital sheet music retailer.
Silvio is also a music teacher with many years of experience, whose students range in age from 5 to 60 plus. He encourages music study not only for performance success, but also for personal development. In 2019 he attended music pedadogy courses at the Conservatory of Lecce.
Since 2014 he‘s been the vicepresident of the Music School and Association “Oda – Officina Degli Artisti” (Taurisano, Italy).

My name is Auriane, I live and work between Berlin and Athens. I'am also a professional musician and sing in many languages like Spanish, French, English... My practice is the result of 10 years of musical studies in France.

As a pianist, musicologist and composer, I am passionate about music and I tend to cover the maximum amount of subjects inside music in my lessons. I have instructed students of different age groups in saxophone performance and music theory (including counterpoint, harmony and composition) up until university level, in Spain and the UK. After graduating from Cambridge with a double starred first, taking into consideration my academic results and teaching experience, I have also been selected for inclusion in the Supervisor Registry to teach counterpoint and harmony papers. My approach to lessons is very flexible, and I always try to adapt to the needs and qualities of each student. I believe that communication is essential, and at the beginning of each lesson I ask my students if they found my recommendations from the previous lesson helpful and how they see their progress. After this spoken introduction, we proceed to work on some warm-up and technical exercises. Then, we play some studies and pieces, or go over some music theory exercises, trying to apply the advice from the previous lesson and make further improvements. Finally, we conclude the lesson with a summary, listing the main key points and suggestions and comparing our experience to the previous lessons, trying to find a clear sense of progression and a coherent line of work towards a certain goal. This teleological mindset occupies a central position in my methodology, and I always encourage my students to look ahead and plan a series of stimulating events or challenges to look foward to, such as a concert, a recital, a presentation or an exam.

Two keywords form the base of the singing technique I teach: relaxation and engagement. Inspired by the Alexander technique, we need the body to be completely free from any muscle tension before and after producing a sound. Then, to create a sound of quality, the body also needs to be engaged and free. By releasing all the unnecessary tension, you will be able to sing all the arias of your dreams. I will give some weekly exercises in singing and music theory and we will correct them together during the lesson.
I was part of the choir of the French public radio broadcaster for 7 years. I have a diploma in Music theory from the CRR of Boulogne-Billancourt. I even have a degree in Pop music and I am currently finishing my Master's in musical theatre and composition.
