Since high school, I’ve offered private tutoring to students aged 10 to 17, helping them with everything from grammar worksheets and book reviews to philosophy essays and creative writing assignments. As for English, I was raised in an international school environment where English was a core part of my education from childhood through high school. I earned my TOEFL certificate before beginning my current bachelor’s studies, which are entirely in English. I've also taught English with a focus on pronunciation, grammar, syntax, and practical communication skills. TUTORING SET-UP When tutoring, I place strong emphasis on tracking progress, often by assigning homework (if agreed upon) and creating clear, structured plans to help students stay on track. I’m always flexible and happy to adapt to each learner’s feedback and preferences to make lessons as enjoyable and engaging as possible. I offer lessons online or in person—either at my place or yours. Thanks to my bilingual upbringing (with a German mother) and my French-German high school diploma (AbiBac), I can also provide instruction in German if needed. After high school, I did not study at all to be a teacher, translator or performer! * So why do I continue to devote my time to private lessons? * It all started with Marine looking for a host family to host Yuka for 3 months! A year later, I leave in exchange student in Japan living in immersion exclusively in host families, this is how: - I was admitted to the famous Kokugakuin High School. - I visited Tokyo, Kyoto and Niigata. - I became "ambassador" of France. - I won the 3rd place in the "speech contest" in Japanese, just behind the Thai and Taiwanese, facing 8 foreign students of all nationalities in long stay, just like me. On my return, I spent the JLPT N3 to certify my level by the Japanese institution! I really want to share this passion for those who have a crush on the land of the Rising Sun! * Who is my course for? * To those who have a concrete project related to the Japanese language. My teenage daughter studied English with Amalia, and I can give only very positive recommendations. Amalia was always very helpful, dedicated and patient. She coached my daughter before each school test to get her better prepared. I could see that my daughter welcomes each lesson, which is totally a credit to Amalia's teaching style. Amazingly, Amalia was giving me as a parent a feedback after each lesson on how it went, what they were focusing on and how my daughter was prepared for that. I just had my first-ever flute lesson with Paco, and it was an amazing experience. He is incredibly kind, patient, and a truly wonderful person. Paco is clearly a master of his craft—his deep knowledge and passion for music shine through in his teaching.
