Do you need to improve your English so that you can participate fluently and confidently in business meetings, presentations, webinars, telephone conversations or interviews? You may be aiming for a job in the EU institutions or other organisations in Brussels. Or you could be working in an international company or studying for a Masters or another qualification... I have been a qualified, professional English teacher and translator for more than 20 years. My courses enable learners to actively produce the language, repeat useful expressions until they are habitual and correct mistakes until they are removed. Although I am happy to explain and practice grammatical issues, the focus is on effective, correct and appropriate communication by using visual material, videos, interesting topics for discussion and challenging quizzes. As I have advanced knowledge of French, German and Czech, I can particularly appreciate and correct the issues speakers of these languages have in English, but this is also the case for Dutch speakers. This course is designed for high school students who have a significant weakness in the fundamentals of mathematics and find it difficult to keep up with the current curriculum. We start with them from scratch in basic operations, simplifying expressions, dealing with fractions and roots, This course aims to establish the student in the basics of mathematics from the beginning, in a gradual manner suitable for students who have difficulties with the basic structures of the subject, so that they are prepared to study calculus later with greater confidence.
