Tom - The Hague40€
Trusted teacher: If you want to improve your English grammar, vocabulary, fluency and pronunciation, you might want a tutor! I am available for you, your relative or your friend online and in Den Haag. I teach adults of all levels and ages, including seniors. I'm Tom, and I've been teaching English since 2013. Originally I'm from the south of England, and I've been happily living in the Hague since 2021. Before this I lived in Taiwan and mainland China. I speak a bunch of languages besides English, like Mandarin, Finnish, some French, and a little Japanese – and now of course I'm learning Dutch! ⭐ English for Adults of All Levels and Ages My classes are light-hearted, relaxed and always interactive. People learn best when they’re enjoying themselves and feeling deeply interested, and that is my promise to you. I will correct your mistakes, but I will never shame or embarrass you for making them. My class is a place where people come to feel good and grow confidence. You can decide what you want to do in our class. Tell me in advance, and I'll spend time preparing interesting materials. For example: • conversations with feedback and corrections (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation) • help with reading and writing • understand and practise grammar • learn idioms and natural language with context • prepare you for visits abroad or conversations with foreigners • creative activities like games I'll teach you the differences between formal and informal phrases so that you use them in the right situations. For example, some Dutch people don't know this, but when you want to say "moeten", in English we usually don't say "must". That meaning of "must" is very formal and uncommon in modern spoken English. Instead, say "have to". In 1965, the Queen said "I must go to the lavatory". Everyone else in the 21st century said "I have to go to the toilet." ❗ Very importantly, I will also show you how to study on your own. I know you won't be my student forever, so I want to prepare you for the future. If you hope to get good at English, it's not enough just to have a tutor once a week – the more time you put into learning English, the better and faster you'll get. I can show you how to easily make digital flashcards, write memorable notes, and use AI properly to teach you English. This way you can also keep learning after our course ends.

Trusted teacher: Hello there! Do you need help with IB or IGCSE Economics, English or Politics? Are teachers just not enough? Well then, let me help you! My name is Lauend, a student pursuing a BSc in Political Science. I am an experienced tutor specializing in IB and IGCSE Economics, English, and Politics, with a strong academic background and a student-centred teaching approach. Having completed both IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate, I understand these curricula from the inside—not just in terms of content, but in how examiners think, how mark schemes are structured, and where students commonly lose marks. This allows me to teach strategically, with a clear focus on exam performance, conceptual understanding, and long-term academic confidence. I already have hands-on tutoring experience with students at different ability levels, ranging from those aiming to consolidate core knowledge to high-achievers targeting top grades. Each student receives a curated learning plan, adapted to their strengths, weaknesses, pace, and academic goals. I have taught and supported IGCSE and IB DP students at schools such as the Amsterdam International Community School and the Rotterdam International Secondary School. Through my holistic, tailor-made tutoring for each student, I can help you not only achieve higher marks in IB and IGCSE, but also (and more importantly) understand and apply these subjects in the real world, a useful skill that will become increasingly valuable throughout life. Whether you’re aiming to boost your grades, sharpen your essays, or finally feel confident walking into exams, I’m here to help make the process clearer, calmer, and more effective. **Academic Results** IGCSE Economics: A* International Baccalaureate (IB Diploma) Total Score: 36 Points Economics Higher Level: 6 English A: Language & Literature Higher Level: 6 Theory of Knowledge: A

Trusted teacher: Dear friends who love music. Would you like to enjoy music even more with me? - Violin, Viola, Piano and music theory/solfege lessons for all ages and levels in Den Haag. In my lessons, I carefully teach you how to hold the instrument, the shape of your hands, make a good sound, and how to practice to improve, all tailored to your levels. I believe that improving your instruments requires steady practice and patience at first. Even five minutes a day is better than not touching the instruments at all. If you make it a daily habit for a week, two weeks, a month, six months, or a year, your level will definitely improve, you will be able to play the songs you want to play, and you will experience the joy of playing. Even if you cannot touch an instrument, singing loud out or in your head can still practice, and you will realize how important it is for improving your musical ability and expressing yourself. Why not try expressing the words of your heart that you normally cannot put into words through the sound of the instruments? I would be happy to help you improve your musical life. My name is Sakura. I am a baroque violinist, graduated with a master of early music department at Koninglijk Conservatorium in Den Haag. I play the modern violin, viola, medieval fiddle and keyboard instruments as well. Happy to share the music with you with all of my experiences of my music life and what I learned. Started playing the piano at 3 years old and the violin at 7 years old, then went to the music high school and Tokyo university of the Art in Japan. Also, I have learned classical ballet, traditional Japanese dance, playing the Koto, etc. All of that experience and fun are in my music. I hope to help you enjoy music even more.

Cristiano - The Hague48€
Trusted teacher: What is music theory? Is it just one theory? What do we do with it? How come so many of the greatest musicians didn't know even the name of the notes? Let's dispel the myth. They may, in fact, have lacked the names, but "knowing" in music means something else than a dusty stockpile of information and labels. Their ears, their voice, and their hands "knew" very well... Music theory is the way we get some order into the endless realm of possibility that music allows us. Naming and conceptualizing these possibilities is very useful in many ways. It provides us with an overarching and abstract understanding of what we have done (reflective element), and it can even open up to yet unheard sound combinations (generative element). But one point remains crucial: music theories come from music practice and come back to music practice. Theories are the most useful and loyal servants for music-making, but only empty speculations without it. In these lessons, I will help you to understand how to navigate music theories and what to do with them. I will show you a plurality of approaches to systematizing sound relations that will serve at best the music you love to play or want to compose. The lessons will be custom made for each student. Whether you are a beginner who simply wants a little help to get the basics right or you are a cultivated musician fond of music theory who wants to explore advanced and complex concepts out of the box, I will provide you with ideas, materials, and exercises. I will work to adapt to your learning rhythm while keeping you challenged at the same time. You will receive regular feedback, advice, and guidance Don't hesitate to contact me for more details!

I am very happy with Dominyka as my voice teacher. With her guidance, I have been able to improve my tone and widen my range much quicker than expected. Leessons are a joy: Dominyka can immediately hear and see what needs focus and explain what I must do to improve. This process is dynamic and fun, and I feel motivated to practice every day because I am inspired by these advancements. She can demonstrate many techniques with her beautiful voice. Overall she is a great teacher. Since she is teaching me to play the violin, she has always been very enthusiastic. She makes you feel at ease and makes you accept that making mistakes is ok, even when you are a perfectionist. Besides, she is very flexible with the style of music you like and adjusts her teaching to your development. Even online classes (since the pandemic) go super well. I can highly recommend to take classes with her!
