For me, teaching music is a passion and an art form in itself.
It’s a journey that takes people into uncharted territories, expanding their talents, knowledge, and skills.

Solfège & Hearing Training - Music Theory Preparation Courses

Solfège is one of these indispensable tools that contributes to the development of musical hearing. With that a basis can be formed for the general musical understanding.

Through my role as a student assistant of various theory subjects (including solfège) at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, I have had the opportunity to teach students with many different ages and backgrounds.

My approach:
• The lessons are always in line with the environment and the theoretical knowledge that the student already has.
• Creative thinking is used in the lessons. This is done, for example, by improvising melodies or coming up with a second voice based on feeling.
• I also encourage critical thinking and listening. I do this by not giving too much pre-chewed information, but by an experiential approach.
• In practice I use different solfège methods (tonic sol-fa, or using numbers in a scale). My experience has shown that not every system is ideal for everyone. That is why I am flexible in my approach and I will always coordinate this
on my students.

Bass guitar lessons with a holistic, "all-round" character.

We will practice the lessons together and we will use your best songs for this. I believe that if you have deep emotional contact with a piece of music, the learning process will also become faster, cozier and smoother!

Our main themes:

- technique and overview of the bass (where?)
- general music theory, ear training (why?)
- creative improvisation and composition (what?)
- rhythm, tempo, phrasing and feeling (how?)

For adults and teenagers, lessons last 1 hour. For all levels from absolute beginner to conservatory level.

I studied at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague and I just completed a master in Vocals and Piano at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I give Jazz/Pop/Classical Piano lessons but my main goal is to try to give the student a general understanding of the music to approach every style and to have fun with music! I love to work with children, I like to teach them good values like patience, self-confidence, trust, communication, and collaboration, all through music. I learned my teaching skills from famous flute teachers of our time.
