In 2013, she continued her studies at the University of Macedonia, where she discovered her passion for the oud, a captivating Middle Eastern instrument. In pursuit of her dreams, Dimitra enrolled at Codarts in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in 2017, focusing on mastering the oud. Her hard work and dedication paid off when she received a perfect score of 10/10 for her final concert in 2022. Throughout her musical journey, Dimitra has learned from renowned teachers such as T. Atzakas, S. Sinopoulos, E. Tsikoouridis, and A. Papadimitrakis, who have provided her with invaluable guidance and nurtured her skills. To further expand her musical horizons, Dimitra has participated in masterclasses led by internationally acclaimed musicians, including K. Erguner, Y. Tokcan, N. Rohana, C. Barbas, and C. Labrakis. These experiences have enriched her musical perspective and added a unique touch to her performances. Since 2021, Dimitra has been a member of the musical group Merem. Together, they have released an album and had the opportunity to perform at renowned events like the North Sea Jazz Festival. Beyond her accomplishments as a performer, Dimitra has a strong passion for teaching. With six years of experience, she shares her knowledge with students of all ages and levels. I always thought about how the ancient Greeks introduced Music as an essential subject in school. Music was to heal, to entertain, to get to know yourself more. I'm just finished my studies in the University of Arts of Codarts (Rotterdam) and I can't deny I will always keep learning after finishing my degree. I'm looking forward to sharing some knowledge and to hear what you already know. What can i offer? Styles that we can work on: Classical, Folk, Jazz, Pop music. Languages that we can speak in the lesson: Dutch, English, Catalan or/and Spanish Skills that we can work on: basic techniques, jazz and folk techniques, play the cello while singing, percussion on the cello. How do I work? Each class will be individually prepared, in order to have the student goals in mind. In our first lesson we can get to know each other and then we will figure out what do you want and how can I help you. For BEGINNERS I teach the bow, finger positions and other basics with easy songs (with kids I add games to make it more entreating). Such as relating painting with playing, dancing with playing or literature with playing. For AVERAGE LEVEL we explore, with already some technique, how to play songs, finding a good sound and feel at ease with the instrument. Extra activities: Once a month I plan a rehearsal with pianist to work on some repertoire of cello and piano. Meetings with other students are also arranged to play duos together. Later my position developed into employment where I would run after school clubs to help the children build confidence and talk about their emotions, make fun programs for summer camps, and of course, I continued with tutoring many children GIRLS DO CODE Girls Do Code is an organization in Slovenia that aims to get more women into STEM, they believe that this interest has to start in childhood and therefore they offer lessons in Computer Science to over 300 girls. This cause was something that I thought was incredibly important and so I became a volunteer for their organization. This entailed teaching a group of 10 girls the basics of Computer Science in a fun and creative way and was a very rewarding experience. Through my training for Girls Do Code, I was certified by Microsoft as an Innovative Educator. I currently work as a Maths teaching assistant at an international school in the Netherlands where I work with children struggling with maths in small groups. I have had two ukelele classes so far and I am very happy. Stephano is chill but committed to helping you advance. I did not expect to learn music theory as well which I am finding very interesting and rewarding because I am already applying it when playing. I would definitely recommend him to anyone irrespective of their level.
