I have been teaching Spanish and Catalan private lessons for over 15 years, but I’ve also taught in the context of cultural associations and the French and Catalan national education. I am always happy to be part of my students’ learning journey; no matter what level you have, we will learn plenty of things together! :) I offer dynamic Catalan online classes adapted to each person and their needs. My lessons are oriented to all levels, using the language in real and pedagogic contexts. As a teacher, I am very interested in letting my students learn not only the language but also the Catalan culture, as it is a fundamental aspect to really be able to succeed in the learning process. In order to do so, we will work on all the different competences (oral and writing skills), grammar and vocabulary, of course, but also I like to use some real texts, videos, songs, etc., so we can get the chance to learn from real instructional materials and discuss the news and culture. The most important thing is to try to communicate in Catalan so you will become more and more fluent. We will get there step by step! I come from Guadalajara, a town close to Madrid, but live in beautiful Barcelona. I understood very early that I like not only learning but also teaching languages and studied my Masters of Linguistics Applied to Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. I have lived in France, India, Germany and Russia teaching Spanish. During these 15 years of teaching, I learnt a lot about different methods, people and logics. I use a variety of resources (textbooks, articles, small videos, audios...) providing examples, exercises and homework so that what is to be learnt is doable and designed for your learning preferences. I adapt my classes to what students want and need so they make the most of their time and money. I think it is very important for students to feel comfortable and safe. It is also essential that what we do and talk about in class makes sense and is relevant for you. It is your goal and personal style of learning what will define our classes. I also speak English, French, German and Russian. Ona has been a much better teacher than I could've hoped for. First and foremost, she has the ability to be very adaptable with respect to the way that she instructs you. Whether it be observing and understanding how the student learns most effectively or more explicitly, you can tell what you want to learn and how you'd like to do so. Many teachers, I have found, have a method and stick with it, without consideration of how a student may learn best. That ability on its own distinguishes between what is a good/average teacher and a GREAT teacher or coach. She is also extremely kind and patient (something very important for me, as I tend to struggle!), which makes learning something difficult and a bit exhausting at times, much more enjoyable than it would be otherwise. S-Tier Instructor!

I just wanted to drop a quick note to say how great she is as a teacher and as a person! She is not just the best teacher, but her personality is equally wonderful. She is incredibly patient and have a super cool way of teaching, and on top of that, she is super friendly. Plus, she is one of the smartest teachers I've ever had. In my opinion , she is the best teacher ever, and I can't believe how much I've learned, even from our very first class. Thanks a bunch for being so fantastic!

I had my first Spanish lesson with Irene and it exceeded expectations. She uses a structured mix of activities and drills that keep the session focused and engaging. Despite being a complete beginner, I was speaking simple conversations by the end of the hour. She has a clear, effective teaching style and knows how to build confidence quickly without overwhelming you. I learned a great deal in a short time and genuinely enjoyed the process.
