Sprachen sind für mich weit mehr als nur ein Kommunikationsmittel – sie sind ein Fenster zu neuen Kulturen, Denkweisen und Möglichkeiten. Nach meinem Bachelor in Romanistik in Würzburg habe ich über drei Jahre in Neapel gelebt und dort meinen Master in Spezialisierter Übersetzung und Interpretation absolviert. Ciao, I am Desi and I’ve been teaching Italian as a foreign language since 1988. I was born in Trento, in northern Italy, and over the years I’ve lived in Brazil, Sardegna, and now in a small village in Abruzzo. I have a degree in Italian Language and Culture for Foreigners and I’m a certified Italian teacher (DILS-PG, University of Perugia).
I’m a patient and understanding teacher, and I love introducing students to Italy beyond the usual stereotypes.
Since the first lesson you will be *using* the italian language and you will get in touch with authentic material even if you never studied it before. YOU will be the protagonist! Building a cooperative relationship e develop your autonomy and your awareness of the experience of learning will be our main goals. You will have homework assignments and feedback in a virtual classroom that you can access from any device.
I work with all levels and learning purposes, like travel, studies, work and (inter)cultural growth.

My interest for languages has organically led me into pursue a career as a Spanish tutor. With years of blogging and editing for social media, I have developed a keen sense of detail and aesthetics.
In addition, my role as a Professor Assistant has embedded valuable academic experience in me as well. Coupled with my journalism experience, it gives me the tools needed to conduct advanced level Spanish classes.
I now welcome the opportunity to further expand my horizons and look forward to teaching children of all ages while exposing them to the wide Spanish and Latin American cultures.
