Singing lessons
Discover your own voice as I support you developing your personal sound and the technique needed. We will be doing vocal warm ups, improvisation and sing the songs of your preference.

Violin lessons
Noticing that a lot of violin players are unable to play music without scores I tend to work using more the ears instead of scores. Besides learning songs and improvisation in the musical genre that the student prefers, I also emphasize on technique and posture.

Every person is unique and needs a particular and personal approach!

Acerca de mí

Hendrike is a Brussels-based multi-instrumentalist, violinist and composer active in a wide range of musical genres including jazz, classical, world and ambient music. With a deep love for improvisation, movement and sound exploration, her teaching reflects an open, creative and personalized approach.

Originally from Düsseldorf and raised in Antwerp, Hendrike began playing violin at the age of 8. She studied classical music during her school years, and later completed a Bachelor in Jazz Violin at the conservatories of Leuven and Antwerp, learning from masters like Alexandre Cavalière and Kurt Van Herck. Her journey brought her to India, where she studied Indian classical violin, and to Senegal, Palestine and Algeria to explore traditional music cultures.

Hendrike performs and records with projects such as BAUM (solo), Pablo’s Eye, Botanical Bodies, and as a freelance musician for artists like Zwangere Guy and Daniel Dzidzonu. She also composes for film, theatre and documentaries.

As a teacher, Hendrike offers violin and voice lessons that are tailored to the student — from classical to improvisation, from beginners to advanced, from structured learning to intuitive musical expression. Whether you're looking to deepen your technique, discover your own sound or just enjoy making music, you're welcome in her class.

The course is intended for anyone seriously interested in the functioning of the voice and its application in singing (support, power, vocal stability, timbre, etc.).

Inspired by the EVT (Estill Voice Training) method, a system that explains how the voice works and uses it to rehabilitate vocal disorders, strengthen public speakers and support high-level performers, my goal is to make the student more aware of their vocal instrument and more comfortable in their sound emission and singing.

We will begin by exploring the source of sound: our body. We will cover breathing and warm-up exercises, and focus on various sound emission techniques to improve voice quality and control.

This course is for all those who want to sing and whatever their level, age, history! The desire and the pleasure of singing must be the first motivation!

Actress, singer and author I developed my musical practice (jazz singing, voice work, piano) parallel to my studies of theater at Insas and music at Lemmensinstituut. Next to the artistic projects that I lead (ROSA - Brazilian music - jazz - French song); Foëhn (jazz, world music), I taught the musical awakening from 2015 to 2017 at the school of music Blanches and Black and gives since the beginning of the 2018 the course of vocal training for students actors of the "Cours Florent" in Brussels and I propose on the other hand courses of songs and a work of the voice in individual or collective.

The sessions last 1 hour and can be held in groups or individually.
We always start with breathing, relaxation and inking exercises and then explore our tool with a few exercises before going to work on a piece if the student wishes. We then search together for the right tone and then dissect the melody and the text for personal interpretation. (Possibility also to work texts for reading!)

Let's go to meet this wonderful tool that we use constantly but know so little: the voice and more precisely the voice sung!

I graduated from Viola at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Brussels, and also as a music Professor for all levels from the Conservatory of Buenos Aires (Argentina), specialized in viola.I have experience teaching music to kids through games, in school orchestras or privately. I also teach adults, adjusting the class to their interests and needs. During the lessons, the student will also learn music theory integrated with the instrument class.

After studying at the A. Steffani Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto in Italy where he obtained the highest distinction, Gabriele then completed his Master's degree in violin with distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Mons with M° Eliot Lawson and Wibert Aerts. During his training, Gabriele also studied with Ilya Grubert at the Fondazione Musicale Santa Cecilia in Italy, Elina Vahala at the Hochschule Fur Musik Karlsruhe and took masterclasses with Ivry Gitlis, Stefano Pagliani, Elisabeth Perry, Igor Volochine, Vineta Sareika, Kati Sebestyén and Chouchane Sironossian. He is currently studying at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with M° Shirly Laub and M° Frédéric d'Ursel in a specialized master's degree and Agrégation at the Royal Conservatory of Mons.

In 2018, Gabriele won the audition for the Jeugd Antwerp Simphony Orchestra (ASO) and for the Nationaal Jeugd Orkest (NJO); in 2019 he won the audition for European Union Youth Orchestra (Euyo) and Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza (OTO) and is also selected in 2020 for the Young Belgian Strings as well as the Antwerp Philarmonic Orchestra. He has collaborated with several orchestras in Italy and Belgium, including the Boho Strings Orchestra in Antwerp, the Ataneres Ensemble in Louvain, the Chapelle Musicale de Tournai in Tournai, the Assai Symphonia in Hasselt, the Orchestra of Archi Italiani and the Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Italy.

Very involved in the chamber music repertoire, Gabriele founded in 2018 with the pianist Julien Lejeune the Duo Aréthuse, in which they explore the romantic French and contemporary Italian repertoire, in search of an interpretation marked by accuracy, simplicity and of modernity. They are at the initiative of the creation in 2019 of the Hellens Ensemble, consisting of a string quartet, a piano and a lyrical singer, an ensemble with which they are interested in Belgian music and more particularly to the repertoire with voice.

Gabriele also studied at the University of Padua at the Faculty of History and Musicology.

One-to-one music lessons inspired by the teachings of Suzuki, Havas, Hoppenot, and Galway.

The lessons are adjusted according to age, level, and interests. The most important is that the student will learn in an enjoyable way for them.

It is only possible to take 45 min. lessons when the student receives more than one lesson a week -which is highly recommended for anyone that might want to become a professional musician. Lessons longer than an hour are also possible for anyone over 14 years old.

Other possibilities, a combination of instrumental/theory lessons and prices can be discussed.

In my classes I aim to transmit first of all my passion and love for music.
I like to prepare a personalized programme adapted to the level and exigencies of each pupil.
I also aim to include some violin duos, to be played with me during the lessons, as I believe playing with other musicians is one of the best ways to enjoy music and learn useful musical and technical skills at the same time.
Another essential factor in my classes is correct and natural posture while playing, to let music heal our souls instead of hurting our bodies! ;) I have been practicing Yoga for a few years, and have experienced the importance of good posture and targeted light stretching, especially for younger players in a phase of growth and change.
I like to help pupils to develop good technical skills in a fun way, always applying technique to targeted repertoire and keeping in mind that technique is nothing but a means of expressing ourselves through music.
