Welcome to my phonics class, where young learners embark on an exciting journey through the fascinating world of phonics! This tutoring class is meticulously designed to guide children through the progressive phases of phonics, from Phase 1 to Phase 5, equipping them with the essential skills needed for reading success. Led by experienced educators, this interactive class combines structured lessons with engaging activities to make learning phonics a fun and rewarding experience.

Throughout the classes, children will:

Discover the Phases of Phonics: From the foundational Phase 1, focusing on listening skills and environmental sounds, to the more advanced Phase 5, exploring alternative spellings and tricky words, students will traverse through each phase at their own pace.

Explore Diagraphs and Trigraphs: Children will delve into the world of diagraphs (two letters representing one sound) and trigraphs (three letters representing one sound), such as 'sh', 'ch', 'igh', and 'ear'. Through interactive exercises and examples, students will master these essential phonetic combinations.

Practice Blending and Segmenting: Using a variety of fun games and activities, students will hone their skills in blending sounds together to read words and segmenting words into their individual sounds.

Develop Sight Word Recognition: We'll introduce common sight words at each phase, helping students recognize them instantly to enhance reading fluency and comprehension.

Build Vocabulary: Through engaging stories and word activities, children will expand their vocabulary and deepen their understanding of language.

By the end of the classes, children will have acquired a solid foundation in phonics, empowering them to tackle new words with confidence and embark on a lifelong journey of reading and discovery.

I have over 4 years of experience in teaching and tutoring English as a second language. I am currently a PhD researcher at King’s College London and run this tutoring business on the side, as I enjoy motivating students to learn new skills and overcome challenges.

I have studied English language and literature for all of my academic life and being multi-lingual (Fluent in Dutch and Sinhala), I understand how difficult it is to learn a language as a complete beginner. I am an empathetic and understanding teacher, but I also know how to push your limits and show you what you are capable of.

I will assign some, flexible homework for out of class, but most of the content will be addressed in the lesson. I am available to teach all levels of English or aid in English literature, but please message me for more information!

Hello everyone,

I am a 22 years old Belgian Female who recently moved in London in order to pursue my law studies. I completed my bachelor at the University College Maastricht in the Netherlands, and have acquired a lot of tutoring experience over the past three years. Indeed, alongside my studies, I have always dedicated some of my time to tutor French/English/Dutch lessons to people of all ages.

My lessons are taught in a way as to encourage my students to live the language they want to learn. I give considerable importance to improving one's verbal abilities, and my lessons are structured as follows:

- Warm-up games (i.e., vocabulary games).
- Verbal Skills: Debate on any topic of the student's interest.
- Writing Skills: Small essays to write at home following the debate (correction during the next class where attention shall be paid to grammar rules, etc.).
- Listening Skills: Analysis and translation of popular songs.

I am a working musician, recording artist, composer and performer based in London.

Apart from having years of experience with performing and recording, I've also taught drum lessons since I was 16 years old.
