I am from Brittany, a beautiful sea-side region in northern France and I graduated in a Master degree of teaching French as a foreign language. After multiple teaching experiences, from the internships to being a teaching assistant, I am now a full time freelance French teacher, passionate about the language, its quirks and funny rules (they're funny, I promise).

I worked (and still do) with :
- children - we do a lot of creative activities
- teenagers - making sure they remain motivated, involved and super active in the lessons
- adults - from every level, whether for the pleasure of learning a language or for work-related reasons.

Regardless of your level and age, you will be speaking right away (the most important part in learning a language) but I will tailor the lessons according to your expectations and/or needs in this learning journey of which you are the main character.

I create a learning experience (content and pace) adapted to your needs: speaking fluently, DELF/ DALF test preparation, conversations to help with travel or relocation or simply the pleasure of talking about subjects you are interested in. We can have our lessons in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoying various aspects of learning a language. It's not just about memorizing complex conjugations!

I work with a variety of online resources, all of which is shared with you after the lesson. For structure and to evaluate progress, I also work with certain books depending on the level and the requirement. Unless you wish to focus on specific skills, I try to include speaking, listening and reading during the session, while writing exercises are given as homework. Grammar points are handled as and when they come up.

TECHNOLOGIES FOR LEARNING.

My name is Laurie and I am an independent FLE teacher, graduated in French and Romance languages and literature since 2012. I have five years of experience under my belt (abroad and in Belgium). I have created a teaching method for online courses.

The course includes:
-The material (articles, videos, exercises from images and texts, grammatical theory, links to the exercises...). I use Google Doc so it's best to have a Gmail address to access it.
-The correction of exercises outside of class (the written expressions are corrected outside of class, or with the student, according to his needs).
-Access to an application (free) to study vocabulary on your smartphone.
-A vocabulary sheet - pronunciation - grammar / conjugation, sent after each course.
-If necessary, a vocabulary recording (for beginners).
-The realization of online exercises and tests from the sent vocabulary sheets.
-Motivation, laughter, good mood :-)

My method:
- It's based on speaking.
-For grammar I use a question/answer method (learned during the training at the CERAN center).
-We work on pronunciation with the verbotonal method (exercises for setting your voice, for rhythm, etc.). I might even make you sing! :-)
-Everything goes through the spoken word before the written word, but I clearly adapt to the needs of the students.
-The course is a little different for children and adolescents: I use interactive games and cards via webcam.

I also very often use situations close to the student's experience, such as describing places they have been or talking about what they have experienced. At the same time, I teach the grammar rules to the student. I now live in regions where French has been spoken for over 30 years. If your child is having difficulties in school, I would love to be able to help them overcome them.
I had the opportunity to work in several non-profit organizations (Schola ULB, Youth Club, CIFA, ABEF) where I helped young adolescents understand their subject in French. I also helped them prepare for their exams, including the CEB and CE1D.
We will work together on their lessons, we will review the vocabulary and grammar they need to know and we will work on their difficulties in order to overcome them.
