My musical training began with classical piano studies at the age of five and continued with rigorous instruction through my adolescence. I studied with teachers trained in the Chinese Central Conservatory tradition, whose pedagogical lineage includes disciples of renowned pianists such as Fou Ts'ong and Yin Chengzong. My piano repertoire covered major works from the Classical and Romantic periods, and I was a regular participant in national youth competitions and conservatory masterclasses in China. In percussion, I studied under Aiyun Huang and Fabrice Marandola—both leading figures in contemporary percussion—and took part in masterclasses with Steven Schick and Dame Evelyn Glennie. As a performer, I have collaborated with ensembles including the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal and leading contemporary music groups, bringing a versatile and international perspective to my musical work. From only one lesson, I feel my son's confidence has increased hugely. Mr. Sarr understands that not only is my son learning to speak French but is simultaneously taking Chemistry in French at the same time.
