¿Por qué para cantar es tan importante recibir clases individualizadas?

Seguir videos o tutoriales de youtube.com puede parecer una opción atractiva porque hay muchísimos y es gratis: pero puede ser muy peligroso para un oído que no está entrenado. ¡Es normal no saber cuándo hace las cosas bien o mal! Y ahí es cuando puedes forzarte sin querer y acabar sin voz o incluso desarrollando una patología vocal.

La voz es un instrumento complejo y que requiere de un importante nivel de coordinación y conciencia corporal. Además, como cualquier persona, cada voz es única e irrepetible, al igual que tu manera de entender la información. Lo que no cambia son los mecanismos que permiten una fonación sana. Y ahí entra la labor del profesor.

A partir de tu sonido, un cantante y profesor experimentado debe saber reconocer qué mecanismos estás activando y cómo explicarte qué es lo que debes de cambiar. Mi propósito y mi realización como docente es darte las herramientas que tú necesitas en tu caso individual, y dártelas de manera que puedas interiorizarlas para que consigas cada vez más autonomía.

Adapto las clases a tus necesidades y a tus objetivos, y para ello me gusta dividirlas en tres partes fundamentales:

- Calentamiento vocal y técnica general: La vocalización es siempre gradual, activando amablemente la musculatura y con ejercicios que trabajen la totalidad de tu tesitura. ¡Te voy a hacer muchas preguntas para que seas consciente de qué debes sentir y qué no!

- Técnica específica para la canción o la pieza que estemos trabajando: A partir de la obra que hayamos escogido para trabajar, te propondré ejercicios que te ayuden a cantar las partes que supongan mayor dificultad. Registro de pecho, de cabeza, voz mixta, belting, coloratura, vocal fry, técnicas vocales extendidas... y por supuesto canto lírico, que es donde estoy especializada.

- La canción. Una vez que la técnica es correcta, que no te cansas y que te sientes libre comienza lo realmente divertido: ¡Expresarte! Y llamo a esta la parte más divertida porque es cuando empieza la magia. Como musicóloga, he centrado mi investigación en la expresión emocional a través de la voz. Puedo ayudarte a conseguir que tu público se emocione, y a que encuentres esa manera de expresarte a través de la música que es tan tuya y que es única. Ahí está la magia.

La descripción más breve que puedo dar es que desde que tengo uso de razón me apasiona el canto. Además he heredado la paciencia de mi padre y el deseo por enseñar de mi madre, así que ser profesora de canto se volvió mi vocación.

Actualmente trabajo como profesora a tiempo parcial y sigo manteniéndome en activo como cantante. Me especialicé en canto lírico, y por mi cuenta me he formado también en moderno y teatro musical.

Como musicóloga tengo especial sensibilidad para los aspectos estilísticos y los detalles que hacen que la música llegue a un oyente, pero lo que más disfruto es de un trabajo bien hecho y de acompañar a mis alumnos en sus metas artísticas, ya sean personales o profesionales.
