Learn Mathematics by Inventing Each Mathematical Object
From 11.3 € /h
As a mathematics undergraduate student, I know that the way math is taught from elementary school to high school often relies on memorizing formulas and knowing where to apply them, which makes learning tedious and boring.
In my classes, I aim to explain each mathematical concept based on what my students already know and what they don’t, to encourage them to understand why such an object arises. I strive to make them feel like they are discovering it for the first time so they can truly make the knowledge their own.
The classes can cover topics such as algebra, geometry, analytic geometry, precalculus, integral and differential calculus, multivariable calculus, set theory, mathematical logic, linear algebra, differential equations, probability, and modern algebra.

About Me
I am a friendly, patient, and understanding person with a deep love for mathematics.
Since my first year of high school, I discovered how math classes were structured at the university level, and I was captivated by the freedom and simplicity they offered. This passion led me to start studying on my own to ensure I could transition smoothly into a mathematics degree without struggling with the shift in teaching methods.
In addition to mathematics, I enjoy programming, chess, basketball, and video games.

Education
I am currently studying for a bachelor's degree in mathematics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), located in Mexico City, where I am in my 6th semester.
Experience / Qualifications
From my experience as a student and math tutor, the teaching approach for mathematics before entering university is largely focused on memorization and application. However, once you start university, students are required to learn how to create proofs and work with more abstract concepts. This shift makes it extremely challenging for those beginning degree programs that rely heavily on advanced mathematical concepts—such as computer science, actuarial science, mathematics, physics, or engineering—to adapt to this new style of learning. In many cases, this difficulty even leads them to change their career paths.
For this reason, I believe it is better to start teaching mathematics in a way similar to how it is done at the university level. To make this transition less daunting for students, I think it is more effective to guide them in understanding where each mathematical concept originates. This way, they can truly internalize the knowledge rather than merely memorizing it.
