JulesVocal technical coaching (all styles) and singing (lyrical) on Lausanne and its surroundings
How to learn to sing? To sing just and well? To answer these complex questions, I was interested in phonatory mechanisms, with speech therapists and phoniatres, I studied singing with a dozen singing teachers, I participated in many Masterclasses and trained myself in different institutions: first at the conservatories of Vaulx-en-Velin and Mâcon, then at the Regional Conservatory of Montpellier, and finally at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Lausanne where I am currently studying with Leontina Vaduva.
It is first of all through passion that I want to convey what I have learned. This is felt, according to the words of my students, in my way of teaching which reconciles the rigor of art and the pleasure of singing.
In my pedagogical approach, I clearly separate the vocal technique and the art of singing, that is to say the management of an objective mechanism, physical and physiological, of sound production (articulation of the language, management of the pressures subglottic and supra-glottic to achieve a pneumo-phono-resonantial balance), and the shaping of this sound to achieve musical beauty (make a beautiful "legato" line, tempo variations, nuances, etc.). ).
When I start with a new student, I first make a diagnosis to determine the range of the voice, the level of resonantial passages, and check the health of the larynx (tonicity, endurance, flexibility).
The typical course begins with vocal technique exercises and ends with the work of a musical piece. I adapt my course according to the needs of each one (for example, I can start with a Feldenkreis or Alexander technique exercise, relaxation, breath, or a physical warm-up), but also according to the desires and tastes of the student (the technical part will last more or less long).
Considering that the stage is important for personal fulfillment and to set goals in music, I propose to my students to participate in the auditions and group lessons of the music school where I work in Lutry.

I have a Bachelor in Piano Orientation Music. I studied piano first in Valais at Mrs Barbara Borse, then at Mrs Magali Bourquin in Lausanne and I concluded my Bachelor studies with Mr Christian Favre.
I teach for 2 years in Lausanne in private homes. I have also made substitutions in various schools.
My main goal as a teacher is to open the world of music to the student and teach him a solid foundation so that he can be as independent as possible in his work. That's why parallel to the piano course I also propose an instruction to harmony and of course music theory.
I therefore welcome students of all ages beginners, students who wish to take the piano, students who wish to enroll in the conservatory thereafter or students with bases who want to improve.
I am in possession of a vehicle and therefore moves easily even outside Lausanne.

ClémentThe clarinet, a fascinating instrument! Courses for all ages, all levels, all walks of life.
The clarinet is a fascinating instrument. Its woody timbre, its tessitura close to the voice offers a wide range of musical directions. Whether you want to play classical, jazz, song or world music, we will progress together to connect the song and the instrument. To develop the breath, to consolidate its supports, to feel the rhythm and to shine the melodies, that is the objective!
I adapt my method according to each student but here are the central points of my educational work:
- Warm up: stretching and breathing
- Sound work: beak, held notes, harmonics *
- Technique: ranges, transpositions *
- Repertoire: Piece being learned, reading *, improvisation.
* confirmed students
I attach particular importance to the link between song and instrument. Singing the songs and even the scales improves the musicality, the phrasing, the accuracy to the instrument.
As much as possible, I ask to memorize the pieces. Knowing how to sing a song before playing it is for me the best way to integrate it.
