I'm a passionate musician and teacher with a Master's degree in Music Therapy with experience teaching children, adults, and people with learning difficulties.

I offer personalized one-on-one music lessons which can be completely tailored to your learning style and musical goals and skills. I can teach guitar, ukelele, songwriting and music theory at an advanced level. I can teach piano and singing to beginners.

As a musical therapist I am skilled at feeling students' needs and adjusting my lessons accordingly. I'm also an active musician who regularly plays live shows.

I'm Ruth, a passionate musician and teacher. I have a Master's degree in Music Therapy and currently work as a music therapist. During my education I learned to play many different instruments such as guitar, ukelele, percussion, piano, and how to use these instruments to help people.

I'm also an indepent songwriter who recently published her first EP 'Inside Out' and plays in two bands.

But I also love teaching, and have taught students of various ages over the past few years. As a teacher, my goal is helping you reach the goals you set for yourself, whether that is learning to play your first instrument or refining your technique or songwriting.

Education

I have a Master's degree in Music Therapy from the Lemmens Conservatory of KU Leuven, studied classical guitar and cello at SLAC Academy Leuven for 12 years and followed a masterclass on teaching music to small children.

I have several years of experience tutoring students of various ages, am an active gigging musician and songwriter and have experience working in daycare and summer camps.

Being highly skilled in sight-reading, I have often realized how valuable and enjoyable it is to possess that “gift.” After more than ten years of teaching students of different levels and aspirations, I have observed a common thread: regardless of their goals, all were eager to improve their ability to read and interpret new, unfamiliar music.

Currently, I am developing a multifaceted approach designed to help students understand a composition at first sight. This method combines specific pattern recognition and structural score-mapping, anchored in a fundamental understanding of rhythm, pitch, and harmony, together with highly effective practice and memorization strategies personalized to each student's needs and technical challenges.

For over ten years, I have been teaching students of all ages and levels. In addition to regular lessons, I offer the opportunities to perform at the yearly class concert as well as dedicated preparation for ABRSM piano examinations.

I'm a pianist with extensive performing experience on international stages and a first-prize winner of more than 30 international piano competitions across Europe and USA. I hold a Master's degree and four Postgraduate degrees (piano and chamber music) from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.

I have always been passionate about music, I play three instruments, and I recently finished my piano studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in the class of Piet Kuijken. Concernant le contenu du cours je le module en fonction de vos attentes et objectifs.

Je lie systématiquement le travail concret de l'instrument ( Classique, Variété ou Jazz ) avec un apprentissage minimal des éléments de base de la pratique musicale en général : théorie de la musique, formation de l'oreille intérieure, développement de la sensibilité harmonique, mélodique et rythmique, solfège etc... Je peux volontiers aborder tout cela plus profondément à la demande de l'élève, c'est passionnant aussi vous verrez !

La première rencontre sera l'occasion de discuter de tout cela, afin de mettre en place un cadre adopté à votre profil (Jeune enfant débutant, adolescent confirmé, adulte en reprise ou autres...)

Je considère que l'essentiel est de trouver un bon équilibre entre les exigences de rigueur inévitables pour progresser dans l'apprentissage du piano et le plaisir immédiat de jouer de la musique, qu'on est en droit d'attendre d'un si bel instrument !

Je suis une jeune pianiste diplômée, actuellement étudiante au Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.
J'attache une forte importance à l'enseignement depuis le plus jeune âge, ayant été guidée par un père professeur de piano. J'ai commencé à exercer ce métier dès l'âge de 16ans, en ayant de nombreux élèves particuliers réguliers ainsi qu'en ayant travaillé dans plusieurs écoles de musique.
Le rapport professeur-élèves-parents est très important pour moi, afin d'avoir un bon suivi de l'élève. Ma méthode est simple; que l'élève se sente en confiance et puisse s'exprimer librement à travers son instrument.
Ayant eu un père professeur de piano, j'ai toujours été baignée dans cet univers. Partager mes connaissances, rencontrer de nouveaux talents, de nouveaux profils, aider l'élève et communiquer a toujours été très important pour ma part. Le rapport professeur-élève est très important pour que ce dernier puisse s'épanouir pleinement.

Classical music is a unique way of self-expression and inner development. In addition to certain skills of playing an instrument, you also develop your memory, motor skills, synchronicity and much more.

I am a third-year student at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, but also a laureat of international competitions. My musical journey began in my hometown in Kazakhstan, and then in Moscow at the Tchaikovsky Central Music School (which I graduated with a diploma of distinction). In addition to concert activities, I teach piano and music theory for everyone (beginners, professionals). Today, a multidisciplinary artist with a passion for teaching, I entered the Conservatory of Music very early on to learn piano and music theory: at the age of 6.

For a little over a year, I have been teaching children between the ages of 4 and 6. My lessons are presented as a fun musical awakening:
- know how to stand in front of a piano,
- hand positioning, fingering,
- learning rhythm and scales,
- note recognition,
- musical discovery and listening.

However, I propose to accompany any beginner, whatever their age (child, teenager, adult). I mainly travel to homes, my Casio piano keyboard on my back, to offer those who do not yet have one the opportunity to try and tame the instrument.
