Welcome to My Guitar Courses I'm a graduate of the Kunstuniversität Graz with a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Guitar and currently continuing my Master’s studies. With over 9 years of teaching experience—from my beginnings in Athens, Greece to my current base in Graz, Austria—I’ve worked with students of all levels and backgrounds. Every student is unique, so each course is tailored to your individual goals and musical interests. Do you want to learn how to play saxophone or flute but don't know where to start? Have you been playing for few years already but lost your motivation and you feel stuck? Do you want to take your playing skills to higher level? Do you want to feel free when improvising? Do you want to know what is the theoretical background behind the music you love so much? I can help you with all of that. I offer saxophone and flute lessons in jazz (especially), but also classical, pop... you name it. Bring your favourite music pieces and I will help you to play them and improvise. In addition, I can help you with better understanding of music theory. If you are also interested in composition, I am the right address for you. Every student is unique, this is why I will do my best to find out what is the best and the most fun process for you to learn and improve fast.

Based on the student's needs and technical capabilities we will work together on a piece/song that a student might want to learn. Additionally, in order to improve the playing and to understand the piece better, we will work on the playing technique, harmony, and music theory of the piece/song.! It is possible for us to work in person also!

You can learn to play the classical guitar from the beginner to an advanced level on the lessons with me. My main goal is to teach my student very strong basic skills with which one can develop her-/himself later on her/his own. Ich lehre gern auch Musiktheorie/Komposition, also wenn du Theorie Nachhilfe oder Vorbereitung auf Universitätsprüfungen brauchst, dann kann ich dir damit auch helfen! Englisch ist natürlich meine Muttersprache, aber ich würde gern auch auf Deutsch unterrichten! With 16 years of guitar playing experience and Bachelors Degree in Jazz & Contemporary Popular music, I've had the opportunity to play Jazz, RnB, Folk/Singersongwriter, Bluegrass, Funk, Heavy Metal, Rock. From Jazz Bigbands and Musical Pitbands, to accompanying singer songwriters, to playing solo guitar concerts. I know how the guitar fits into many different types of ensembles and with many styles of music. I'm now studying a Master of Jazz Composition and Arranging at KUG in Graz and I love to help others understanding complex musical theory and how it can be used to write new music! I love writing music for Bigband, Classical Chamber ensembles, and small jazz ensembles as well as for singer-songwriters. English is of course my mother tongue but I would be happy to teach in German as well!

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. I give private piano lessons for all levels and styles (classical, jazz, Latin, new age, pop...), as well as music theory, composition and improvisation lessons. Guitar Basics The guitar is a versatile and popular stringed musical instrument, widely used across genres like rock, pop, blues, classical, and more. Parts of the Guitar • Body: The main part, which amplifies sound in acoustic guitars or houses electronics in electric ones. • Neck: The long, thin section where the fretboard is located, used for pressing strings to form notes. • Fretboard: A flat surface with metal frets, dividing the neck into segments for different pitches. • Headstock: At the end of the neck, it holds the tuning pegs to adjust string tension. • Strings: Typically six, labeled (from thickest to thinnest) E (low), A, D, G, B, and E (high). • Bridge: Anchors the strings to the body, transferring vibrations to produce sound. 2. Types of Guitars • Acoustic: Produces sound naturally via the hollow body; ideal for folk, country, and classical. • Electric: Relies on an amplifier and pickups to produce sound; common in rock, jazz, and metal. • Classical: Features nylon strings, suited for classical and fingerstyle playing. • Bass: A four-string variant for lower pitches, used to anchor rhythm and harmony. 3. Tuning Standard tuning for a six-string guitar is E-A-D-G-B-E. Use a tuner (electronic or app-based) to adjust each string’s pitch by turning the tuning pegs. A properly tuned guitar ensures notes and chords sound correct. 4. Basic Techniques • Holding the Guitar: Sit with the guitar resting on your dominant leg (right leg for right-handed players), keeping the neck slightly tilted upward. For electric, a strap allows standing. • Fretting: Press strings down on the fretboard with your fingertips (left hand for right-handed players) to change notes. Use light but firm pressure just behind the fret. • Strumming/Picking: Use a pick or fingersਸ System: your fingers to strum or pluck the strings with your right hand. Start with simple patterns. 5. Chords and Notes • Chords: Combinations of notes played together. Beginners often start with open chords like C, G, D, A, and E, using multiple fingers to press strings. • Notes: Single pitches, found by pressing a string on a specific fret. Practice simple scales like the major or minor pentatonic.
