Mathematics all levels up to Master

I am a first year master's student at EPFL, in biology. I offer support courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. The course offers a possibility of help for students having difficulties in the courses offered. The student will find a framework where they can ask these questions, discuss methodologies and improve. Putting my knowledge at the service of other people is something I like to share. Master's student in physics having obtained the baccalaureate with very good honors (19.8/20 general average) I happily help in learning mathematics and sciences in general which made me want to study at the EPFL and to come to KTH afterwards. I offer to give help lessons in mathematics or physics for all levels (up to the start of secondary studies) occasionally or regularly. I have previously given lessons to children. Having several young nephews and nieces and having regularly carried out baby sittings, I am used to supervising children. I can also help with English classes (after having lived for several months in Cambridge, England), French, philosophy or provide comprehensive school support for homework help for children. I can receive at home, in a room reserved for the KTH library or give lessons by webcam. I can also move if the address is reachable by metro or bicycle. As a computer science student at EPFL, mathematics has been an integral part of my academic journey for a long time. With this experience, I have already had the opportunity to give support courses at different levels, which has allowed me to develop a pedagogical spirit and focused on excellence. My goal is to instill in pupils and students the pleasure of mathematics while helping them to progress in this subject.

I love teaching and have always enthusiastically helped my classmates. I have been giving private lessons since 2016 (around 25 students, including one for Analysis I, EPFL). I am also an assistant for two courses at EPFL (3rd year Bachelor and Master levels), and I co-created and taught the EPFL Advanced Analysis course during the welcome week for new students (Students4Students EPFL). I strive to transmit my knowledge and my passion for the subject to my students, at a pace adapted to their needs. I think that students who take private lessons have a sincere desire to overcome their difficulties and that we must therefore pay particular attention to encouraging them. It is therefore step by step that I help them understand the material, by developing their intuition of the different concepts covered while ensuring that they fill in their gaps. Maths and physics are among the branches that divide students the most. However I am convinced that it is possible to reconcile them with their refractories by providing a personalized and pragmatic pedagogy, while linking the subject to other branches to anchor them in a general knowledge. Thus these courses given at home are personally adapted to each student according to his affinities and his goals.

At university, I have been an assistant in Chemistry for the first years of EPFL for a few years as well as for a course linking mathematics and electronics, called Signals and Systems. So I am used to teaching and explaining concepts to students with difficulties. I also give private lessons to students passing the Swiss maturity or the French baccalaureate. To try to see together the difficulties as well as the misunderstandings: we go back to the lesson together, we do an exercise together and then I let the student do it independently and we review together if he is blocked or if we need to correct. Graduate Teacher (HEP Secondary 1) gives individual tutoring courses for any student who wishes to consolidate their foundation, prepare for the mandatory leaving certificate exams and entrance exams for the gymnasium. Course content varies according to the specific needs of the students. At their request, I gladly corrects additional work and also offers a personalized work plan. In order to optimally increase the pupil's chances of success, personal work outside the support classes is necessary. Course preparations and additional corrections are included in my services.

Hello I am from Morocco and I am very passionate about science. I am currently a student at EPFL and I make available my knowledge in Mathematics and Physics for support and academic support courses in all levels from primary to secondary. Second year master's student in Energy Science at EPFL, and holder of a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at the same school, I offer mathematics and physics courses to students from EPFL, UNIL, gymnasium or college. During my studies, I built a solid scientific foundation, but also accumulated a lot of experience as a private teacher. In fact, for 4 years already, I have been teaching: - to first year bachelor's and master's students at EPFL in the mechanical, microtechnology, computer science and biological fields - to UNIL students in the biology, economics and maths sectors - to students in the gymnasium. - to middle school students These experiences allowed me to develop a better approach during my courses. I first try to understand what the student has understood, and what is not well understood. To do this, I suggest doing several exercises together. Then, I re-explain in a simpler way the part in which the student is having difficulty. Finally, I let the student do a new exercise on his own to see if the concept has been acquired. I am very happy to be able to help students in difficulty to progress, because for me the sharing of knowledge is very important. In particular, I was able to help students with weaknesses in mathematics and physics to pass their end-of-year exams.

Being a student at epfl, I acquired a good basis in mathematics. I want to help and support the students in their school program by giving them the techniques. It is also possible to do extra work to progress. I adapt to the wishes of the student or the parents.

Salvation! My name is André and I have just finished my Doctorate in Physics at EPFL. I offer support courses in Mathematics and Sciences for primary school students. My methods are characterized by personalized support for each student, while considering their objectives. I help students in difficulty to succeed in their learning, but also those who want to reach a level of excellence and perhaps go a little beyond the school programs. The courses will be adapted to each individual case. I prioritize understanding to the detriment of memorization and I help students develop their mathematical / scientific reasoning, in order to make them more autonomous and give them the bases for their future studies.

I am a student in the second year of a Bachelor of Mathematics at EPFL. In high school I participated in tutoring freshmen twice. It was a question of helping them to organize themselves, and of giving them support lessons in scientific subjects. I also helped friends in economics to progress in math. One of them intended to give up the subject and regained a taste for it when he understood how to go about it. (It went from 5/20 to 18/20) I consider it important to restore the self-confidence of students in difficulty. In addition, my goal during a course is to guide the student towards understanding without chewing on the work because the satisfaction of the work accomplished allows the students to take a liking to the work and therefore to really make them progress.
