I am a bachelor student in Mathematics in Amsterdam and I have been a tutor for students of the International Baccalaureate for Math and Physics in the past, having graduated the IB myself.
I prefer to do 1-on-1 tutoring and be able to focus on the student along with building a friendship with him/her and let the student be comfortable around me to be able to tackle the problems with more in-depth understanding once it arises. I have a certain passion for Math and Physics that has brought me to tutoring them and re-learning many things, which keeps me going!

I am an eager student and learner. I try to understand what I study in a way that I don't have to memorise anything, instead I find a logical and reason-based approach to studying and teaching any subject. Studying mathematics in university has helped me a lot with this.

I like to have a good student-teacher relationship, to better understand the strengths and limitations of the student and build a comfortable environment where creativity and understanding can flourish. I like to come back to topics I have learned and re-learn them by expressing my understanding in a different way according to each student's personality, also to keep my understanding of the topic firm.

Apart from all of the aforementioned motivations, I simply love to help people and especially children, because what other better good is there to create in the world?

During my studies in Econometrics at the University of Amsterdam (graduated in 2015, MSc.) and in addition to my job as a consultant, I have always taught mathematics and statistics to secondary school students and university students (HBO and WO) with great pleasure. As a graduate of the Bachelor's program in Mathematics and Computer Science and the Master's program in Mathematics, I've noticed that many students struggle with many subjects. These are often also the most crucial for their progress, as many future courses build on them. If you're a Bachelor's student facing the same challenge, you've come to the right place. I believe anyone can learn math. And with an average rating of 8.5 for my exam training at, among others, lyceo, I have experienced a lot of others doing the same.

We usually start with some (simple) exercises around the subject to gauge your understanding. This way I can construct a tailor-made approach that guarantees you will see the light. There are, of course, no real guarantees in education. But I can guarantee that after every hour of tutoring, you will be a little closer to the math genius that you really are.

In addition, in the past two years, I have gained a lot of experience in online education. I now have a drawing tablet, an iPad, and an external microphone (worth 300 euros) to be able to deliver the best experience online.

If you are struggling with a specific subject, we can look together at what you are good at and what we can best focus on during the sessions. A few subjects that I have coached students in in the past are: mathematics, business economics, economics, arithmetic, accounting/accountancy, cost accounting, managerial accounting, financial accounting, corporate finance, risk management and investments. I give tips on which information is most important, how you can best prepare for the subject, and how you can best read test questions. This method has proven to be very effective!
