Lessons available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, & German.
I am Tomás , an experienced live and studio drummer with a Master Of Music degree from the Royal Northern College of Music in the UK and I am available as a private tutor.
MY APPROACH
I am aware that everyone is different and therefore lessons need to be individually tailored every time. I will make an effort to get to know you as a person as well as your reason for playing the drums so I can then adjust your lesson material adequately. This ensures that every student is enjoying themselves from the very first lesson and therefore the learning will naturally occur much faster.
WHERE
Lessons are at my studio in Wedding, postcode 13359. The room is spacious and comfortable and has a PA system and two drum kits, making it ideal for lessons. I am also available to teach at the student’s location;
AGES
I have taught one-on-one lessons to kids as young as 7 but also to adults in their 50s and 60s. Whatever your age, we will make it work.
SKILL LEVELS
My experience ranges from teaching young beginners who are just starting out to mature drummers who need to polish their playing. For beginner students, I will teach you the basics of drumming in an approachable way to make it enjoyable from the very start. For experienced drummers, I can improve your technique, groove, feel, tone, articulation, dynamics, stage performance, vocabulary, listening, and reading. All this so you can become a better musician, not just a drummer. I also like to teach in a way that empowers you to teach yourself in the future.
ABOUT MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching 1-on-1 lessons for 11 years. I also have 7 years experience leading drum and percussion workshops.
ABOUT MY DRUMMING EXPERIENCE
I've been drumming for over 22 years and have now recorded and gigged with multiple bands, some of which I am the co-founder and co-songwriter for. Styles of music I have performed include rock, jazz, funk, psychedelia, afrobeat, disco, dance rock, electro, grunge, metal, blues, latin, and samba. I have a Master Of Music degree from Manchester’s Conservatoire (Royal Northern College of Music) in the UK. Guitar/Music/Composition Lessons in Berlin (All ages and all levels welcome!)Hello!
Alright I'll break it down by parts. If you look for a more "narrowed description" just scroll down where I made a list :)
My name is Francisco, and I'm a guitar player from Argentina, currently living in Berlin.
I am very enthusiastic about teaching and sharing the energy to grow musically to my students.
I have taught music for 7 years in schools and privately at home. With private lessons my aim is to adjust to the student likes and abilities. I am attentive to the needs and the reasons why someone is wanting to play and learn music. And I try to encourage the curiosity and spirit of making music and not follow what is "considered" that you should learn.
What to expect from the first lesson with me?
To get to know each other. That way I see what you like and what you don't, what you already play, and your learning pace. And probably I can share with you something new already, and from there, we will build a "program" according to what you want and your rhythm, and time availability. I value singularity and I like to get to know who I teach, so that way I can help them better. It can be first chords and ways of learning new songs, or improvisational tools, or pure harmony and theory stuff.
Because everyone is different, for example, if you like Rock I will go in that direction and teach you the elements that make Rock sound like it does and I won't teach you Jazz Harmony, if you like Classical music we will go over the abilities that you have to have to execute this kind of music, the same goes for the styles that I play.
My skills:
I play and have played mainly Fingerstyle Guitar, Jazz, Argentine Tango, Jazz Manouche, Rock, Rockabilly, Experimental. I have worked a lot playing Bossa Nova at some point. I don't like teaching something that I don't know. So for example, oriental music I couldn't teach. And if we come to a point where I am not helpful anymore, I will say so. What I do like is learning with students, it is often the case that your students teach you new ways of thinking about music and I find that super exciting!
I was lucky to travel a bit of the world playing music with different projects and musicians that I admire, I always did this playing mainly Jazz music. I have played in bars and clubs and theaters in New York, Boston, Buenos Aires, and in different cities around Switzerland, Germany, France, Holland.
I was also part of several orchestras (Jazz, Tango and Rock) in Argentina and in the US.
I teach beginner - intermediate - advanced levels of different topics:
- how to improve technique (right hand and left hand)
- how to improvise (elements of improvisation, vocabulary, phrasing, etc.)
- how to visualize the fretboard
- how to learn songs by ear, and how to read music (or tab)
- how harmony and music theory works
- specific genres such as, Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Bossa Nova, Tango, Rock, and Fingerstyle.
The lessons can be also in German (basic, so you might need a bit of patience with me!) or Spanish (that's my mother tongue) or English. They can be at my place (Wedding), all corona safe, or online via Zoom/Skype.
Shoot me a message if you are interested!
All the best,
Francisco

Kristóf
Piano, Flute and Music Theory lessons at your homeI give music lessons at your home!
Hello!
I’m Kristóf, a 25-year-old musician, having completed my master’s degree in flute in Hungary, studying composition at Universität der Künste Berlin, giving piano, flute, and music theory lessons in the English language. I’m a person whose whole life has always been around music since I was born. I’m always excited about sharing each other’s knowledge, having good discussions with open-minded people, and discovering new points of view, new aspects of our World. The lessons can be personalized based on your needs. We can discuss what you are interested in, what you would like to learn about. I have been teaching flute and piano and tutoring mathematics for five years, and being a passionate, attentive person, I truly believe that good teaching starts with the maximal possible amount of caring about the student’s needs, point of view, practicing sympathy, and being able to see the world through their glasses. The student can be just as inspiring for the teacher as the teacher can be for the student. When they happen to fit each other, their work bears fruit in no time! If you are ready to figure out what kind of journey and progress we can make, write me!
About myself:
I grew up in a musician family, my parents are professional musicians in a symphony orchestra. I have been learning the piano and the flute since I was five years old. As a child, I was eager to learn a little bit of as many instruments as possible such as tuba, bassoon, violin, acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar and double bass, accordion, etc. In the end, playing the flute, the piano, and composition became my profile although I'm also really interested in mathematics, science, any kind of art, and good discussions with people. I completed my master’s degree in flute in 2021 in Budapest, Hungary, and started to study music composition at Universität der Künste Berlin in the same year. I have organized and played at a lot of different concerts based on classical, contemporary, experimental, theatrical, electronic, jazz and pop music, free jazz, free improvisation, graphical notation, soundpainting, performance arts, folk music of different peoples, and so on. I get excited about learning anything new about any kind of music and finding connections between the pieces of music coming from rather different origins.

Saxophone lessons - Saxophone lessons - Clases de saxoThe hours are designed according to your musical interests. Since each person has his or her own individual approach to music, it is logical and, in my experience, more effective to work with this in a specific way. So, instead of a rigid curriculum in which you lose interest in a short time, I would like to support you in achieving your personal plans and discovering musical possibilities!
Depending on your interests, motivation, previous knowledge and musical taste, the following focal points are coordinated:
Technique (tone formation, breathing, approach, intonation, finger technique, etc.), ear training, sense of rhythm, improvisation, note reading, music theory.
The focus is all about enjoying the music. Its naver late to learn.
Madara
Integrated Music lessons for kids - theory, composition, pianoMusic lessons with Madara will be fitting to those young people who are willing to either try themselves in the field of music or have decided to learn music.
With Madara you will learn music in practice and in theory. Usually the lesson would integrate such components as piano playing, singing, tasks for music theory and composing (or improvising). "Composing has become an important and also very fun activity in my music lessons. Children very often show up their will and ability to create their own music which is not only a great way to develop creativity but is also very effective way to learn music theory in practice.
