I am a passionate and experienced saxophone teacher who has honed a highly efficient and patient approach to music instruction. I am motivated and pro-active and enjoy working with people to reach their goals. Alongside making sure that whatever goals the student has in mind are achieved, my main focus is making sure that each lesson is enjoyable and to ensure that we have a consistent level of communication (with the student or parent) to figure out the best approach for both of us. Most importantly, I aim to make the lessons fun. I have experience teaching all ages and abilities. Whether you're a total beginner or someone who wants to continuing their learning, I'm happy to help. I have experience with entering students for exams, if that is something you'd like to do. I've have a BMus Hons in Jazz Saxophone and am a performer as well as a teacher. Former student at the Paris conservatory in piano, jazz/improvisation/classic and graduate of a bachelor's degree in music and musicology from La Sorbonne University, I would be delighted to share with you my passion for music. I already have a very good experience in teaching as I have taught in private schools and as a home teacher in Paris, with students ranging from 5 to 40 years old, and that over than seven years of teaching. Hello! My name is Aurel and I am a French Amsterdam-based drummer. Although currently specialized in Jazz music, I have studied various esthetics, and Pop and Rock music, in particular, are part of my background (I played in several pop-rock bands). Therefore I am able to teach a broad panel of music styles. I also have many drum methods and charts at my disposal, and have experience in teaching children from the age of 6, as well as teenagers and adults. Lessons and teaching method: I always adapt to the student's tastes and learning profiles. This is why, during the first lesson, and on a regular basis afterwards, I always take time to discuss with my students (or their parents if they are very young) to figure out together the path they want or need to follow. I am also an active musician, both on the Dutch and the French scene. My trio mainly tours in France and has played at venues such as the Sunside (Paris), or participated in competitions like the Keep An Eye International Jazz Award. I am also the co-leader of the sextet Chai Masters, finalist of several European competitions (Leiden Jazz Award, Golden Jazz Trophy in Lille, France, 7 Virtual Jazz Contest). I grew up playing and singing where my first priority was to fall in love with music and learn to perform it to the best standard that I could do and that’s what I’d like to encourage my students to aim for too. SING WITH MARIO! The 45-minute vocal performance class (held in a studio room) entails a multidimensional approach that focuses on vocal technique, performative mindset and artistic skills for singers, also offering numerous opportunities for vocal competitions around the world (through the World Association of Performing Arts, WAPA). In addition to Mario's 17 years of experience on stage and on camera, he has professional experience as a vocal coach. A lesson with Mario begins with vocal warm-up exercises (10 minutes); then, all vocal/performative/artistic skills are being taught through singing a song of the child/teenager's choice (30 minutes). The class ends with evaluation, advice and suggestion of exercises (5 minutes) so that the student can practice at home until the next class. If you are a parent and would like to introduce your child to the art of music, Mario will create a fun learning environment and make the classes interesting, dynamic and entertaining. Water, tea, candies, or any other drink/snacks that your child would like will be provided for inspiration! Course I: Vocal lessons The vocal lessons are designed on the student’s needs, meaning that during the lessons we will work on whatever is there to improve in order to let you get the most from your singing voice! During the lessons we will learn exercises to warm up and cool down the voice (so a pre- and a post- workout); we will work on vocal technique, doing specific exercises based on specific needs; we will work on the repertoire, choosing appropriate songs according to your taste and to what suits your voice the best. But, most of all, we are going to have FUN while learning and improving! For the first lesson it would be ideal to bring one song that you know well and that you like to sing and preferably you sang already. You don’t have any song yet? no problem at all, we will start with nice exercises and we can choose together a song to work on! Course II: Guitar lessons Have you ever wanted to improve your guitar skills with the goal of accompanying your voice while singing? During this lessons we can work together to find the best way to accompany yourself, using the guitar as a support for your beautiful voice! You will learn nice voicings, left and right hand technique and how to groove with nice rhythmical patterns.

During my oboe lessons, enjoying music is central. The double reed plays an important role in both the sound and the ease of playing the oboe. I make sure there is always a reed that plays nicely. In addition, I will pay a lot of attention to the way of blowing. This is the basis that ensures that the students can have fun and make music right from the start. . Making music together is the best thing there is, so I like to play along with the students in a duet. I guide advanced students in developing their (musical) creativity and, if they wish, I offer reed lessons. In these lessons I give tips for updating reeds and explain all the steps of the reed making process.
