Trusted teacher: For the past two decades, I've had the privilege of tutoring in both French and English. My students have ranged in age, background, and origin, spanning children, teenagers, adults, professionals, and even seniors aged 85 and above. You might wonder why I teach both languages. Well, I am bilingual, with American and Swiss/French roots, and I currently reside in Ireland. This unique blend of experiences equips me with a strong and relevant teaching approach. I possess an intimate understanding of both cultures, enabling me to tailor my classes to the specific needs of my students. My teaching journey began during my time studying social work in French-speaking Switzerland. I started offering private French and English lessons to supplement my income, and I quickly discovered my passion for it. Even after graduating and embarking on a full-time career, I couldn't bear to give up this rewarding activity. I cherished the opportunity to connect with diverse individuals and assist them in achieving their language goals. In my teaching methodology, interactivity takes center stage. I employ a variety of engaging learning tools, including photos, newspaper articles, music, videos, and more. My approach is highly adaptable, with a focus on addressing each student's unique priorities. Some seek to refine their pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary, while others require assistance with presentations or speeches for school or work. Some simply aspire to acquire a new language to enrich their general knowledge. I also specialize in teaching younger children, a testament to my educational background and experience. What you will gain from my courses extends beyond impeccable pronunciation and enhanced vocabulary and grammar. You'll also acquire a profound understanding of the culture associated with each language. When speaking a language, it's essential to appreciate the lifestyle, traditions, and heritage of the nations where it thrives. French and English are spoken as primary languages in numerous countries worldwide, each with its own unique accent and cultural nuances. The learning process is limitless! In addition to my language instruction, I'm a genealogist and host spiritual (non-religious) seminars in the beautiful West of Ireland. My passion for vegetarian and vegan cuisine adds a flavorful dimension to my life. Furthermore, I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education and have operated a private "Before & Afterschool" facility along with Summer Camps catering to children aged 4 to 12 for many years. I am genuinely excited about the prospect of meeting and working with you!

Lucie - Dublin$32
Trusted teacher: Hello, my name is Lucie and I would be delighted to help you learn English, either from scratch or to improve your knowledge. I love getting my students to speak since I think practice is the secret to learning a language and improving your knowledge. I always structure my classes around real-life themes (how to introduce yourself, how to make an appointment, how to shop, how to go to the doctor, talk at work, etc). We will see grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation together. If you are intermediate, we will also do courses on texts. We will put both grammar and vocabulary into practice. Please note that all my classes are online (Skype or Google Meet).
I enjoy cooking, painting, traveling, reading, and yoga. I also like learning facts about Japanese. Learning about a language is an eternal process, so although Japanese is my mother tongue, there is always something new to learn. For example, sometimes I look up the history of a word or phrase, read about recent changes in Japanese grammar, or study dialects, which are very different from area to area! I have even attending teaching seminars and have taken classes for translation and interpretation to impove my teaching abilities. My lessons are extremely well planned and organized so there’s no time wasted and I enjoy forming a trusting relationship with my students. When students trust their teacher they feel free to ask questions and know that it’s okay to ask the same question repeatedly until they fully understand. Another important feature of my lessons is the quality of my follow-up reviews. My reviews are meticulous, complete with footnotes that offer supplementary information. Because of my detailed feedback students not only learn during my lesson, but after it as well. I’m so happy to know that some of my students print out my reviews and keep them in a folder for self-study! From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank all of my students I’ve met during my teaching career. They always make me laugh, feel warm inside, and motivate me to become a better teacher. Learning is a long journey so let’s have fun together and make it worth our time! I am looking forward to getting to know you!

Trusted teacher: I give distance math lessons, in French, with a shared interactive whiteboard, for middle and high school students. I am a civil engineer architect and I have been teaching for 8 years. For me, course customization is essential. I like to guide the student so that he understands the subject on his own, so that he can organize his work, structure his reasoning, manage his time, his stress and finally gain self-confidence. Classes are held via videoconference, using a shared whiteboard. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to write to me. I will be happy to answer you as soon as possible.
Hello, my name is Timothée. I am currently an exchange student at Dorset College. I teach French in Dublin. After graduating with honours in mathematics and physics-chemistry, I did a degree in mathematics and then went on to business school. It was during my studies that I started giving private lessons in maths and French to English students in Paris. In Paris I gave lessons to more than 5 students of all levels. I can help with all kinds of needs and objectives, however wide-ranging and different they may be! From those with more or less profound difficulties in the subject, to those aiming for perfection and excellence, to those with more general concerns about their school results. As far as methodology is concerned, the lessons take place as follows: first we go over the course (essential for success in the exercises), we work together on the points that have not been understood and then we do exercises according to the needs of the student (of increasing difficulty). The aim is to give students back their confidence, and that requires an IMPARABLE grasp of the course! Generally, I recite the lesson and what has been covered in the previous lesson at the beginning of each class, which allows me to see what has been retained and what has been forgotten/misunderstood. Once the student understands and remembers the lesson, progress is considerable and the student regains self-confidence, enabling them to succeed in the exercises. I offer a variety of exercises (written and oral comprehension and written and oral expression). I try to teach French in a more fun way than in normal lessons so that students want to learn the language. Finally, I attach great importance to the human aspect, which is why I communicate and exchange a lot with my students and their parents after class and outside of class time. I'm available to my students at any time during the year.

Oliver - Dublin$80
Trusted teacher: .. [British Maths Tutor] ... When I was a young child, I believed I was not a mathematical person. It wasn't until I met an amazing teacher at age 15 that I discovered my mathematical genius and my life was changed forever. I'm eternally grateful to that teacher. My teacher knew that self-image and self-belief is the key to unlocking your child's mathematical abilities. Everyone is good at maths, but we all have different styles of thinking. Bad teachers teach every child the same way. My job is to find your child's style of mathematics and allow him to discover that for himself. When he discovers that, he will begin to enjoy the beauty and power of mathematics ...and then you will see as the grades begin to soar. 👉Click the blue "Contact Oliver" button above and let's discuss how we can unlock your child's mathematical talents! 😊

Hi! My name is Nancy and I am currently studying BMus Composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I teach Piano lessons for both beginner and intermediate learners, across a wide variety of styles, from Classical, to Jazz, to Pop! I aim to create a fun and engaging environment for students to learn Piano, and prioritise flexibility, so students can choose their own learning path based on their individual aims and interests. I understand that as players become more confident and immersed in playing Piano, their interests change, and so, I try to introduce students to a range of music and topics. I have a lot of experience with the ABRSM performance exam board, and I am happy to work towards graded music exams if the student wishes. I can also point students towards opportunities to perform and showcase their work in front of audiences, if this is something which they are interested in. Alongside my Undergraduate studies in Music, I have ABRSM Grade 8 in both Piano Performance, and also in Music Theory. I also have passed ABRSM grades in other instruments, e.g. Trumpet, Singing, Drums, and Tuned Percussion. My degree is in Music Composition, therefore I have experience writing my own music in a variety of styles, and have worked alongside musicians and ensembles throughout Scotland, and overseas.

Language is an important communication skill that, when used precisely and treated with care, can be so powerful that it can bring even the most disparate of people into common ground. Literature is similar, allowing a look into the minds of others. It is an important reflection of the time and cultural situation in which it was written and allows the reader to have a well rounded view of the society they live in as a whole. I can provide language lessons for people, beginner to advanced students in English and Spanish, as well as Italian. Furthermore, I can support literary studies and offer in depth discussions about texts as well as help on structuring essays and general study habits. Furthermore, if needed, I can provide to students help in writing personal statements for university and in preparing for interviews (most specifically for Oxbridge candidates). It is not needed for a student to do all three options, they may choose to their liking what they would like support on.
