One of my earlier tutoring encounters was hosting a summer camp for students transitioning from other syllabi into the IB program; the modules included English, Math and Science. Having taken the standardized tests and also acquired competitive skills in test preparation, I find myself in a unique position to guide candidates through the process. I am also adept in guiding students through college applications and essay writing from being a peer counselor on campus, and later a career counselor. The reason I have found great success as a tutor is because I know how to explain difficult concepts to struggling students. My deep understanding of the various fields allows me to shed new light on topics and show students how to tackle problems in a way they can comprehend. My long and varied teaching experience and familiarity with standardized tests like the SAT enable me to design a unique approach specifically suited to each student's individual strengths and weaknesses. My students enjoy working with me because I think of creative ways to explain complex concepts, keep tutoring sessions fun and stress-free, and always go the extra mile to make sure all of their needs are met. Most of all, I push students to challenge their own standards of success and equip them with the confidence and skills that allow them to exceed their own expectations.

Am a qualified and certified tutor in the area of Mathematics and Chemistry. Am a holder of Bachelor of education Science degree from the University of Nairobi. I have teaching experience of slightly over two years in both kenyan curriculum and the cambridge International system (IGCSE). My teaching tagline is always Teach, Equip, Inspire since I do teach for the student to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in the subject area, but also to equip and inspire the learner with values and attitudes that are necessary for becoming a productive and innovative member of the global society. The teaching methodologies I use include discussion, question and answer method, visualization, group work where more than one learner is involved, inquiry based learning, hands on experience, learning by doing and use of technology in teaching and learning among others. However, no one method is perfect by its own and therefore the best thing I do is differentiation. Being a tutor is great and fulfilling. It's always rewarding and self fulfilling when I see a student I have mentored succeed in the academics and eventually in life. That aspect of having nurtured an individual to a productive member of the society is always an intrinsic motivation by itself. I am an inspiring, caring and student-focussed teacher. My students tell me I have great passion and committed to my work.

The experience with Robert was great and I highly recommend him. The experience with Apprentus, however, was the opposite. If you want to try a single class, they charge you a "membership fee" that costs about the same as the class itself... If you want to avoid the membership fee you have to buy packages of 5 or 10 classes... These fees appear only once you have already been in touch with your teacher and you probably don't want to cancel your meeting anymore. Such hidden fees that appear only at the very end of the booking are anything but customer friendly... So my message is mixed: go for Robert, but not for Apprentus...

Superb experience with Raef. I asked for his help to prepare a math assessment test with an enormous lack of basis but he accepted the challenge. I found out a nice teacher who is not afraid of explaining and repeating if necessary. I did enjoy his method with the whiteboard, it feels like you are in the same place and can interact on the same exercise. Either in English or french he will certainly be able to help you. He is super kind and flexible, I definitively recommend his services.
