Having lived in several different countries I know how challenging it can be to learn a new language and to put it into practice. Especially Dutch, with it's unusual pronunciations and structures. During our lessons I will explain how to deal with such issues and show you that Dutch is actually quite a structured language and a lot less complicated that often suggested. I am a positive and optimistic person and this is also how I teach. I focus on how to do things right rather than wasting energy on why things are wrong. This creates a nice learning atmosphere and it also makes the course much more productive. I like to have an open communication with my students and encourage them to let me know what their difficulties are and what they want to improve. When learning a language it is very important that you can quickly put into practice what you have learned. This naturally motivates you to learn more. For that reason I find it important that it is clear from the beginning what the language needs and wishes of my students are so we can work towards your goals in an effective way and make sure you are able to apply what you have learned as soon as possible. The reason why I like teaching so much is because I enjoy showing people what they are capable of and to help them develop their skills. Another reason is that it allowes me to open the door for you to a great language and culture!

I will teach every lesson Korean through actions and acting out situations. Learning this way will make Korean feel much more familiar in your daily life compared to learning through textbooks and grammar. Just like teaching a native language to a child, our lessons will be fun and playful, and slow. So, let go of the idea that 'studying means sitting at a desk and memorizing words and grammar.' We will progress together and create our own materials. +모든 수업은 한국어로 진행됩니다. 하지만 절대로 걱정하지 마세요! 아주 천천히 그리고 이해할 수 있는 몸 동작으로 진행해서 여러분들 모두 이해할 수 있을거니까요! - For Basic level: We will start from the very basic level, focusing on Korean alphabet spelling (ᄀ,ᄂ,ᄃ,ᄅ, ᅡ,ᅣ,ᅥ,ᅧ ...) and pronunciation. We will emphasize speaking! - For Beginner level: we will use children's storybooks and short videos (the ones I actually watched and grew up with) as learning tools. Up to the beginner level, we will concentrate on listening and speaking rather than writing. We all learn by listening and speaking when we are babies. - For intermediate level: we will use short novels and movies. From intermediate level onwards, we will practice listening and writing down what we hear, along with expressing our thoughts in a diary. -For advanced level: Even at the advanced level, the format will be similar to the intermediate level, with a focus on 10 minutes of conversation. We will record these conversations and transcribe them, making improvements for more natural expressions!

I enjoy very much my weekly lessons with Bart. He makes learning Dutch and its culture a fun and entertaining experience, while speaking Dutch as much as possible, using English only when really necessary. The diversity of the exercises and the fact that he alternates often between listening, speaking, reading and explaining the grammar makes it very enjoyable to learn and practice. It also helps me keep my concentration without getting bored by long repetitive exercises. Bart is super friendly and patient and he makes sure to adapt the lessons to your needs from the beginning and throughout the course. I highly recommend Bart!

Best way to learn a laungage is from a native speaker. Rosa was very professional always arriving on time and having a clear plan on how the lesson will progress. She also sent me via e-mail links to websites were I could practice what I have learnt with exercises.
