Unless you're better than me, of course. :) I studied jazz trumpet with Gary Barone in Freiburg at the International Music College (at that time it was still called jazz and rock school) (toured with Frank Zappa and played as a supporting act for Miles Davis) and have now been in Berlin as a freelance trumpeter and music producer for ten years / DJ active. Thanks to globalization, a new and absolutely usable trumpet is already available from Thomann for EUR 120. Her name is Startone. The lessons take place in my small studio directly at U8 train station Franz Neumannplatz or via Skype. I look forward to your inquiries! (German version further down/Deutsche Version weiter unten) I enjoy teaching because it requires a deeper knowledge of the material than if one is only performing music. I am continuously learning too. I do not think that it is important how old you are or in what environment you grew up. To engage with music as a result of learning an instrument can bring your brain in a healthy state of ongoing change. People that are "without any talent" for music do not exist. Everyone can engage with music and enjoy it. I can teach Piano: - involving sheet music or not, depending on what you prefer. - or/and Music theory lessons - or/and Improvisation - or/and Jazz - or/and Ear Training - or/and Composition. The lessons can be held in English or German or a mixture of both. I teach close to Friedrichstraße in Berlin. The lessons can be done via Skype too. You can read about me as a performing musician here: Julius (*1995) is a German pianist and composer, graduated from the University of Arts Berne in Switzerland in 2017 with honors. In July 2019 he finished his Masters in the European Jazz Masters Programme through the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen with exchange semesters in Berlin and Amsterdam. Throughout his studies, he was lucky enough to receive artistic guidance by Colin Vallon, Django Bates, Harmen Fraanje, Simon Toldam, Peter Bruun, Greg Cohen, and Michael Moore. Julius was granted a scholarship by Lyra Stiftung Zürich in 2015 and 2016. Tours with his own bands have been supported by different fundings from Switzerland and Germany. He performed all across Europe during the past years.

(English text below) DE ich heiße Robert. Foto - Brian D. Crawford, Dennis Landmann EN My name is Robert. I am offering bespoke, high quality one-to-one guitar lessons in Berlin. Lessons are catered for beginners to advanced/university level students. If you are serious about learning the guitar or furthering your current skills, then please read on. ABOUT ME I am a qualified, professional guitarist, composer and teacher. I have 10 years experience teaching students guitar and theory from beginners to degree level, 7 years and over. I have a 1st class masters degree under Frank Möbus at HfM Weimar Franz Liszt and a bachelors degree in jazz studies from Leeds conservatoire (UK) as well as a teaching diploma in further education. In addition to my teaching and studies I am a professional performer specialising in jazz, folk and improvised music. I have played all over the UK and Europe as a leader and side-man and have played with artists such as Dave Newton (Martin Taylor) and Steve Waterman. I have taught university students from Bristol University, BIMM and UdK as well as led numerous workshops for Bristol University students. I lectured for 3 years in jazz, world music and performance in a top UK Further Education college. Also a member of LiveMusicNow and SuperAct. I am currently teaching and performing in Berlin. I have also worked a session guitarist for German TV (ARD) and production companies, most notably NativeInstruments. WHAT I TEACH! I specialise in teaching advanced students in fretboard mapping, strong technique, all aspects of harmony and improvisation. I believe in hard work and building strong foundations, leaving no stone unturned and developing a thorough and usable "matrix" on the guitar. True learning and progress takes time and dedication and practice time is precious. I aim to have everyone student I teach in a place where they can facilitate their own learning and development. I don't just teach "jazz" improvisation but rather a holistic approach to improvisation in western music. However, I am also very experienced with beginners and I would be happy to take on any student who is serious about learning. So if you are interested in having a quality service by an experienced, passionate tutor, then please enquire and we can discuss what it is that you want from a teacher.

Trusted teacher: This course is for anyone that's interested to play the saxophone at any level, from the very beginners to students interested in more advanced topics such as improvisation, both in unconventional ways or more founded on the tradition of Jazz. The course will be adapted to the pupils goals and level, with a demanding but not overpowering approach. The frequency can also be optimized to the pupil's necessities: weekly, bi-weekly or monthly (not less). I believe that the main goal of a mentor should ultimately to make the pupil become his own teacher and establish an empatic two-way learning process.
