I have 12 years of experience teaching the Persian and Russian languages, in addition to which I speak English and Georgian. My approach to teaching students is adaptive, and I concentrate on accommodating a variety of learning backgrounds -- from professional, to leisure, to exam preparation. Regardless of your reason for journeying into the language with me, we will employ supplementary materials such as movie trailers, discussions, level-based readings, and grammar points. My goal is to be attentive to your needs through my materials in order to enable your learning to take the most natural path to proficiency.

I will teach you the alphabet, reading, writing, and pronunciation. I will teach you basic, most frequently used words and phrases. Afterward, we can move to the conversational part and reading/listening comprehension. If you have basic knowledge, we can have free conversations during which I will correct your mistakes, give you suggestions, and provide you with new words. I prefer customized lessons based on the student's needs and experiences instead of having a strict structure since every student might have different preferences, experiences, and desires. Therefore, I am open to any suggestions. Let's meet and discuss our own preferable lesson style.

My name is Lizi, and I’m an experienced Georgian language teacher with a strong background in psycholinguistics research from Princeton University. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching students from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds — including artists, businesspeople, and diplomatic staff. I’m genuinely passionate about helping people learn Georgian at any level — whether you’re starting from scratch, already have some experience, or are preparing for something specific like the Georgian citizenship exam. I’ve successfully guided students through both casual learning and formal exam preparation, always adapting lessons to each student’s goals and pace. For me, language learning is not just about grammar and vocabulary — it’s about building confidence, connecting with people, and discovering culture through communication. My teaching style is clear, practical, and encouraging. I focus on real-life situations, meaningful conversations, and creating a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel free to ask questions and express themselves. If you’re ready to start or continue your Georgian language journey, I’d be happy to support you every step of the way!

If you live in Georgia and you want to communicate with people or if you’re just interested in this wonderful language, then this course is for you! Besides being a native speaker, I’m into linguistics: I’m doing my Masters in Romance Philology (French Philology). I spent a semester in Montpellier, France and studied French and Comparative Literature in Montpellier Paul Valery University as a part of the Erasmus Exchange Program. I graduated in Art Theory and History from Tbilisi State University, so I have a deep understanding of linguistics and culture. Apart from learning the language, you will become acquainted with Georgian literature and culture during your studies.
