From 42.15 $ /h
My name is Ammarah and I am an Undergraduate student studying Psychology at King’s College London. I have worked with a range of children and young adults during my education. My speciality lies particularly in 11+ examinations.
I am an award winning tutor with over a years worth of experience at Explore Learning, working with Early Years through to KS3 students in English, Maths and 11+ entrance exams subjects. I have direct experience using a syllabus led strategy for my students to give them the best grades possible. In addition to this, I have hands on experience working with students with learning difficulties, ranging from: Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD and Cerebral Paulsy.
As someone who has been through the education system, I recognise the challenges of learning and concentration. Currently studying Psychology at degree level, I have learnt a great deal about child development and the importance of education, which has inspired me to work with children in the future as a child psychologist.
No child is born to underachieve. My award winning strategy will ensure the best possible results for you.

About Me
Over a year's worth of experience working with children and recently completed my professional placement at the NHS Maudsley Hospital.
I take a very student centred approach to my lessons. I always run an induction lesson to all my first students in which I assess their overall ability in the subject and then ask the student of their preferred learning style, topics of importance and their aims. After building that understanding and getting an idea of their ability, I focus on delivering content and assessments through exam questions on each topic.
Typical lesson structure can be seen below:
1. Topic curriculum - Going through the topic
2. Assessment - Exam questions on that topic and practicing how to write typical answers
3. Discussion - Sharing thoughts and ideas as well as any possible questions
