Trusted teacher: Your kid needs support to successfully complete his Abitur? Distance learning is taking its toll on his or her performance? Some extra help is necessary to handle an overwhelming workload and tackle finals' pressure? Your reason to read more 8 years non-stop teaching. Coaching experience. PhD student. Engineer. Knowledge is my prime passion and talent, as I have been continuously studying and transmitting everything I was learning, for most of my life. My experience with teaching, and as an older brother, has led me to an important awareness: tutoring never goes without a deep understanding of the person in front of you. The Key to Success: Education Knowledge and rationality is what makes us human: that's why we encourage our children to pursue education and make success out of their knowledge. But what if the education provided to your son is not the one for him? While the education system does work efficiently for the majority, it still fails in reaching all individuals with equally positive outcomes. Many students with different needs, peculiar intelligence, attention deficits or underachievers are not included in what is designed for the most. Whether the reason is a gap in previous preparation, a fault in the programs or a lack of interest or motivation, it needs to be solved within education itself: they are not failing at school, it is school that is failing them. When school does not succeed in providing the appropriate education to kids, they start feeling like studying is not for them, which results in decreasing efforts. As a consequence, their evaluations get even worse, which sets a vicious cycle. In other cases, the kids may find the workload of study too easy, resulting in a lack of incentives and sleazy performances. Does this sound all too familiar yet? I am here to break this trend. With a tailored study program and a systematic feedback, I will convert this cycle from a vicious to a virtuous one, to ensure that the student becomes pragmatic, ambitious and enthusiastic. Targeting the personal side Teaching consists of two parts: tutoring and coaching. While the tutoring aims at transmitting knowledge, the coaching is where the teacher helps the student create his or her own independent mindset and competencies, through guidance and support. The main goal of my teaching activity is to understand the specific needs of my students, and shape my approach around their personality, potential and necessities. Achieving goals My purpose is to provide your daughter or son with the best possible education in the most challenging subject of their studies: Mathematics. This subject normally means a big hurdle for most people. My goal is to make this hurdle easier to the point it becomes success and increases self-confidence. This includes not only dry explaining tasks but restoring fun and motivation. At Pukies Coaching, we work to prepare our students with a deeper understanding of science and to eradicate the fear of difficult tasks. To achieve this, we optimize learning techniques, fill in gaps and customize ourselves around students' individual goals. As often happens, the key lies in organization, which is our prime tool of working and the one we teach students so that they can rely on their own capacities. Trusted teacher: Hi there! My name is Quinn K., and I am a TEFL-certified professional English/Foreign language teacher with a passion for a multitude of languages. I have taught English all over the pacific rim, in Vietnam, Korea and Japan, both at professional English-teaching schools and with private tutoring. I have also tutored English for several years in Portland, Oregon. In Vietnam I privately tutored a wide variety of age groups in English, ranging from Kindergarten to college-aged students. I tutored younger age groups in English Vocabulary and Conversation skills, and college students for IELTS/TOEFL prep and general professional English. In Seoul, South Korea I worked at a school for North Korean refugees, teaching conversational English to large classes. In Japan, I worked at an after-school program teaching English to middle school students, employing ESL games and structured lessons for students. Through these various English-teaching endeavors, I believe I have a strong skill-set for teaching English to all age groups, and in the full range of contexts (Conversational-to business English). Once returning to the United States, I began one-on-one tutoring sessions for professional and conversational English. In total I have 3 years of professional experience tutoring and teaching English. In combination with my TEFL certification, which has strengthened the backbone of my lessons in professional English, my qualifications and experiences make me the perfect pick for all of your English tutoring needs :) I also speak and tutor a wide variety of foreign languages, including French, Spanish, Cantonese, and Korean. I have extensive background in all of these languages (grammar, pronunciation, etc.), and can teach them as fluidly as I can English. I have tutored these languages privately for two years now here in Portland.
