Matteo - Schaarbeek48€
Trusted teacher: Are you interested in learning or developing your flute skills? Are you a beginner or already advanced? Opening up to different repertoires and techniques? You need to integrate your flute class with strong discipline regarding rhythms and solfege? Then... what are you waiting for? I offer lessons of flute and recorder in three languages (French, English & Italian). If you are a big fun of art noveau buildings you can come to my house in Schaerbeek. Or if you leave too far, I can come to your place. My name is Matteo and I am an Italian flutist and musicologist, based in Brussels since 2010. I graduated in modern flute at 'B. Marcello' Conservatory in Venice and at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels with Barthold Kuijken and Frank Theuns in the Baroque flute. I hold a master degree in Philosophy and Musicology as well. I hold a PhD degree in music performance at Cardiff University, School of Music. From 2013 till 2015, I have been teaching at the Venice Conservatory "B. Marcello", giving yearly lectures and seminaries on the historical repertoire for the flute. Since 2021, I have been appointed music curator of Coudenberg Sound Box Fest, a music festival which aims at celebrating the Belgian music heritage and takes place every year at the beautiful archeological site of the former Royal Palace of Brussels. I recorded for Warner Classics & Erato, and a soloist for Arcana/Outhere Music ('La solitude à deux. Solos and duets by G. P. Telemann' in 2018 and 'Affect is no Crime. New music for old instruments' in 2019). I regularly play with leading ensembles and orchestras such as Millennium Orchestra (Leonardo Garcia Alarcon), Vox Luminis (Lionel Meunier), Les Muffatti (Peter van Heyghen), Coro & Orchestra Ghislieri (Giulio Prandi), Le Concert d'Anvers (Bart van Reyn), B.O.X. (Pieter Theuns), Silete Venti (Simone Toni), Transports publics (Thomas Baeté), Oficina Musicum (Riccardo Favero), and performs on the main stages and festivals such as: Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht, De Singel in Antwerp, Bozar in Brussels, Festival de Sablé, Festival des Abbeyes en Lorraine Ravenna Festival, Grandezze e Meraviglie in Modena, Venetian Centre for Baroque Music in Venice, Spazio & Musica at Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Festival Accademia Bizantina, Coudenberg in Brussels, Teatro dell'Arte di Milan, Teatro Della Pergola in Florence, Ars in Cathedrali in Brussels, Musée Jacquemart-André in Paris, and many others.

Trusted teacher: I am a DJ instructor and I teach mixing both digitally and on vinyl. My course starts from the basics: we will learn how to use equipment such as the CDJ-2000 Nexus, the Xone 92 and the Technics 1200 MK2 turntables. We'll cover how to select your music, where to find it (platforms, sources), how to organize it effectively, and how to use Rekordbox. We'll also cover the basics of mixing, beatmatching, and understanding musical tonalities to better grasp the structure and energy of tracks. You will learn how to build a coherent mix, create your own podcast, and choose music according to the mood, the moment, and the audience. We will also talk about the reality of DJing in the evening: what to check before getting behind the decks, the essential points to know, as well as tips and tricks for mixing in front of an audience, whether in a club or any other type of event. I'll also share my personal experience as a DJ: I started from scratch, created my own events, mixed alongside international artists, and played in various clubs abroad. We'll cover everything you need to know about bookings: fees, what to ask for, and how to operate as a DJ, especially internationally. We will also cover the creation of a technical rider, an artist press kit, important information to pass on to promoters, as well as everything related to promoting an artist. I'm a 32-year-old DJ and I've been mixing since I was 18. I've progressed through all the stages: from starting out in my basement for friends, to birthday parties, to becoming a resident DJ at a club with international DJs. I've organized my own events, DJed abroad, and I've also worked as a club promoter, which has given me a deep understanding of the promotional side of things and the criteria for selecting DJs. Today, I continue to DJ all over Belgium. Finally, the course can be given in French, Dutch, English and possibly Spanish.

Great first experience with George! Very friendly and polite. I have had some lessons before, but this is way more personalized and to my liking. We really took the time (almost half of the first session!) to figure out our initial direction, and then we dove straight in. Very knowledgeable on the instrument, he already raised my confidence! Will definitely book again!

Electric bass lessons - Pedagogy adapted to all levels (Schaarbeek)
Jean

rating green star
As someone with very little theoretical background, I find that Jean does his best to explain things in a simple and clear matter. He is patient and calm, will adapt the lessons to your level and needs, accompany the lessons with exercises and material that you can use to practice at home, .. Overall a very good experience so far.

Elvis

Elvis left a good impression after our first lesson, since I had a sense he loves music and likes teaching. He came across as very professional, flexible and is good with kids as well as adults. It’s a big plus for us that he teaches both violin and piano. We look forward to continuing to learn from him!
