Trusted teacher: Hello I'm a professional bass player living in Amsterdam. I have a passion for teaching and passing on some of the knowledge that I have acquired during my studies at several schools and heard from the musicians I look up to. I've done my bachelor degree at The Royal Academy of Music in Denmark, and I finished my Masters at Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2024. I teach double bass, electric bass and composition. Musically I try to be as open as I can. For me it doesn't matter if it's free jazz, traditional jazz, pop or metal as long as it feels good. I'm a leader of my own group where we combine jazz and indie rock. we will release our debut album this fall. I'm also a sideman in several groups. As for composition I have experience with composing for regular jazz groups, big band, string quartet and irregular constellations such as my band with three guitars and three horns. Some thoughts about teaching: I believe that the most important thing when teaching is having a good relation to one another and generally just having a good time. If we don't enjoy the process we don't learn. You should feel comfortable saying how you feel and what you want to learn/don't want to learn. With that transparency I will be able to customize the teaching and balance the curriculum so that I meet your needs while pushing you into unknown territory. I want to start off by saying a huge thank you to Sacha! I am a Master student who needed academic support for a statistics course in February and although I have always lacked confidence in math, Sacha made me feel as if i had the foundation and ability to not only pass the course but also succeed in writing the results section of my Thesis paper. She was always very flexible in her availability, and was able to meet several times per week, which for me, was very beneficial. Other than that, Sacha was approachable, friendly and a great tutor. I appreciate all the support and definitely recommend her to anyone who wants to grow as an academic :)

We are expats that moved to the Netherlands a couple of years ago. Our kids were 6 and 9 when we got in touch with Hetty at the beginning of this year. Hetty worked amazingly at their level and using their interests to build up their confidence in speaking Dutch. I have seen a tremendous improvement in their Dutch within 4-5 months. I would happily recommend Hetty to students with even just a basic knowledge of the language. Had we not moved cities, I would’ve used her services to improve my own language ability!

I have had 5 very helpful lessons with a relaxed atmosphere so far. Federica has directly spotted my weaknesses and has helped me to make my practice time more effective and goal-oriented instead of simply playing what I had learned at some point. I have definitely become more aware of things that I can improve and learned how to make progress more quickly. So far, we have combined different exercises on technique with music theory and also worked on my repertoire a little bit.
