If you're interested in learning practical sculpting techniques, such as figurative art, we'll focus on that. If you're more drawn to a more abstract form of expression, I'll guide you through your more fantastical ideas. Once your pieces are made, we will think together about the best finishes, whether it be molding and casting in plaster, or ceramic firing of the work. Your productions in progress will be protected and handled with care, and any production that passes the final molding or baking stage will belong to you; I will ask you to take them back when they are finished. The figurative and abstract art courses offer different paths, which can obviously be combined to achieve an interesting middle ground. The figurative course provides busts and plaster casts from which to create models, allowing you to better understand the forms of the face, body, and volumes that make up the human being. Anatomical references will also be available as needed; for example, when working on the torso in modeling, I will present you with advanced anatomical references that you can keep. Germán is a great teacher and also fun to work with.
