Orchestral music production, midi mockup and Kontakt scripting (Cubase)

Even in fairly high profile scenarios, producing a realistic midi mockup of sampled instrument is nowadays a very helpful skill. It's not always possible to arrange recordings with real musicians, and at the same time we as composers want to showcase what we can do in the best way possible, and our clients will rightfully ask for the best quality despite the potential lack of budget.

A wonderfully crafted piece of music can easily fall apart without proper knowledge of sample manipulation in this sense. Beside being a composer myself, I had the luck of working for years in studios that specialized in midi productions and sample library programming: I can teach you the software I write with (Cubase) and, more in general, how to get the best results out of your sample libraries, by manipulating them inside of Kontatk/Sine/Spitfire engine, or by advicing you on how to proper postproduce it. We can cover every stage of production, up to the basis of mixing and mastering.

About Me

Metal player at heart, I turned to orchestral music ten years ago, when I started arranging for bands. That lead to write for games and commercial, and today I'm trying to shift my focus to write for film only. The road is long but I am proud of where I currently am! Writing music as a freelancer is my only job and despite being self taught, my impostor-syndrom-based discipline made me reach most of my goals, and that makes me very happy.

It would be my honor to share advice and knowledge with like minded people that want to bring their crafts to life, and that's why I made a page on here. I wish you best of luck with your music, and hope we can talk soon!

Songwriting: establish or refine a writing routine
I help beginning, intermediate and advanced songwriters establish and/or refine their songwriting routine. Some basic music theory and instrumental skills are needed, but I can also help you get this under your belt.

Private piano lessons, music theory, solfège, composition
I am teaching composition, piano, theory/harmony, & ear-training. I graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam as a contemporary composer. I am very open to the stylistic choices of the students and adapt the lesson to fit their particular needs or interests. When it comes to composition, I'm coaching anyone who needs advice as to how to write their own music, how to develop their compositional tools, song-writing skills, how to translate conceptual ideas into practical material. This also applies to children, who might want to get the basics of making their own song, either on an instrument or on the computer. My approach to teaching piano is highly influenced by my composition studies, both in stylistic diversity and in pedagogical methods. I find it important to teach piano in an overall way, one that incorporates ear-training but also theory together with playing. This way i find that the lesson becomes much more stimulating, and it also becomes much more easy to learn. I have experience teaching adults but also young kids between 4-15 years old. I believe it is never late to start learning music and that learning to make music is firstly a fun and then a challenging adventure.

For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points: -Study of various playing techniques, chords, harmony, music of your choice, rhythm, with reading of tablature, teaching structured around the repertoire you like, technique of developing the musical ear - Discovery of the neck, notes and basic positions of open chords - Left / right hand coordination and rhythm exercises for the right hand - Learning of different pieces of your choice - Left hand control exercises, speed and precision - Learning arpeggios - Work around muscle memory - Learning improvisation, musical play with others - Ear training: use your ears to find chords, melodies, sounds and techniques used -Spend a pleasant moment of exchange, without unnecessary institutional pressure, while obtaining concrete results -Understand and discover the many facets of an exciting and user-friendly instrument - Benefit from personalized advice on your posture and certain pitfalls to avoid when starting alone -Adjust and clarify your self-taught knowledge - Learn tablatures / tabs & in English. PLACES : - Locations: Geneva-Lausanne-Friborg-Neuchâtel-Montreux-Bâle-Sion-Sierre-Morges-Bienne. But currently, only by videoconference in accordance with national recommendations on Covid. These sessions also seem to be perfectly unanimous since they have the advantages of direct (example: quality of the interaction), without its disadvantages (ex: loss of travel time), with additional advantages (ex: of notes on the chat, which can be reread afterwards). In this context, these videoconference sessions for which you have requested me, seem to arouse a certain enthusiasm (and a certain enthusiasm). At your request, I therefore continue to offer them.
