VIOLIN LESSONS FOR CHILDREN (from 3 years old) AND ADULTS, BEGINNERS AND ADVANCED

I teach violin to children and adults, beginners and advanced.

Every student is unique. Besides developing good technique, I also enjoy meeting each student's musical wishes and dreams. Learning to play the violin is a collaborative process!

From the very first lesson, I pay a lot of attention to playing together, because making music together is the most fun there is!

In addition to individual lessons, I support my students' playing in orchestras, ensembles, and bands. There are also several opportunities to perform with the accompaniment of a professional pianist. Once a year, I organize a video recording day with several students for competitions and contests. My students have won awards, both in the Netherlands and internationally.

In addition to individual lessons, I offer a "MY LITTLE VIOLIN" STROLL COURSE for children aged 3-5. This course consists of 10 lessons for young children, introducing them to music and the violin. I also offer this course to English- and German-speaking children.

I teach violin in four different languages: Dutch, German, English and Italian.

Violin lessons at home are also possible.

About Me:
I'm a violinist with the Dutch National Opera & Ballet in Amsterdam. I've worked with numerous orchestras both in the Netherlands and abroad. I also perform chamber music and Brazilian choro (Duo Chorinho, with Alvaro Rovira Ruiz on guitar). I received international training at the conservatories of Hamburg, Rome, and Amsterdam.

I have been working as a violin teacher for over 30 years, including internationally, including a masterclass for Brazilian violin students at the University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Education
Ik heb een internationale opleiding genoten aan de conservatoria van Hamburg (Hochschule für Musik und darstellender Kunst), Rome (Conservatorio Santa Cecilia di Roma) en Amsterdam (Conservatorium Amsterdam.)
Experience / Qualifications
I have been working as a violin teacher for over 30 years, including internationally, with a master class for Brazilian violin students at the University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Eva teaches my two children violin, and I highly recommend her as a teacher. She has a systematic and thorough approach, which allows the children to learn technique quickly and very well. Their rapid progress contributes to their enjoyment of playing. At the same time, she caters to each student's individual preferences and helps them develop a personal repertoire once they have moved beyond the beginner stage. Every year, Eva's students come together for a concert—a wonderfully festive event and a great opportunity for the children to practice performing in front of an audience. It also means that the students work intensively on selected pieces, which they thoroughly enjoy. It is inspiring for everyone to see the more advanced students—and Eva herself—performing in the concert, and it's also great fun to celebrate everyone's achievements with a cake buffet!
some

Eva is a passionate teacher with many years of experience. She knows exactly what her students need at every stage of their learning. As a professional musician and orchestra member, Eva offers far more than just violin lessons. I consider it an honor to take lessons with Eva.

- general music theory, ear training (why?)
- creative improvisation and composition (what?)
- rhythm, tempo, phrasing and feeling (how?)

For adults and teenagers, lessons last 1 hour. For all levels from absolute beginner to conservatory level.

Hello! My name is Aurel and I am a French Amsterdam-based drummer.

Although currently specialized in Jazz music, I have studied various esthetics, and Pop and Rock music, in particular, are part of my background (I played in several pop-rock bands). Therefore I am able to teach a broad panel of music styles. I also have many drum methods and charts at my disposal, and have experience in teaching children from the age of 6, as well as teenagers and adults.

Lessons and teaching method:
I always adapt to the student's tastes and learning profiles. This is why, during the first lesson, and on a regular basis afterwards, I always take time to discuss with my students (or their parents if they are very young) to figure out together the path they want or need to follow. I will use charts and methods for those who need visual support to assimilate the skills or teach by ear and by demonstrating to the ones who feel more comfortable this way. I also play electric guitar and can jam with my students, which is a great tool for developing band playing skills or simply to have a good time.

For those eager to make significant progress, I offer consistent and serious monitoring, with practice recommendations. I can for instance prepare a student for an audition or an entrance exam in a conservatory. If you are willing to improve your understanding of rhythm in general, you can also benefit from my knowledge of Indian Karnatic rhythm concepts, one of the most complete traditional approaches to rhythm.
Students who simply want to learn at their pace, to have fun and unwind, are definitely welcome too!

About me:
In addition to my jazz drums bachelor and master degrees from the conservatory of Amsterdam (CvA), which included a thorough pedagogical training and a specialization in Indian Karnatic techniques, I benefit from 4 years of experience as an employed drum teacher in two French associative music schools (Ecole de musique de Nangis and Conservatoire des Deux Rives, Moret-sur-Loing).

I am also an active musician, both on the Dutch and the French scene. My trio mainly tours in France and has played at venues such as the Sunside (Paris), or participated in competitions like the Keep An Eye International Jazz Award. I am also the co-leader of the sextet Chai Masters, finalist of several European competitions (Leiden Jazz Award, Golden Jazz Trophy in Lille, France, 7 Virtual Jazz Contest). Recently, the band was part of Keep An Eye The Records's finalists (March 2022). Its first album "Magic Realism" received critical acclaim in France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.

Looking forward to meeting you and passing on my know-how to you!

Flexible lesson times, without stress and of course having fun and pleasure in music-making!

Welcome! I am Ischico, a piano teacher and concert pianist. For over ten years, I have been teaching children, teenagers, and adults with great love. Whether you want to get more enjoyment out of the piano, deepen your musicality, refine your technique, or learn to improvise: whatever your level, I am happy to help you.

My lessons are completely tailored. Every student is unique, and together we discover how you can achieve your goals. Whether it involves learning the basics, studying pieces, improvisation, music theory, ear training, composition, or building a healthy practice routine: we work on what you need. Do you also want to write your own music? I would love to explore that with you.

Whether you are a beginner or have been playing for years, whether you play for fun or want to grow seriously: if you are motivated, you will fit right in with me. The most important thing is enthusiasm!

Every year, I organize various performance opportunities for my students: enjoyable group lessons and a performance evening. In addition, I work with my students each year towards their own accessible exam opportunity — with goals that we determine together. Do you also want an official diploma? Then you can work towards an EPTA exam under my guidance.

Do you want to work towards an audition for a young talent class, preparatory course, or the conservatory? I do that with great pleasure as well.

I teach lessons in my piano studio at the NDSM Wharf in Amsterdam North, on a beautiful Yamaha grand piano. I have completed two Master's degrees at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona.

Hopefully see you soon in my piano studio!

The lessons will delve into both the technical and musical aspects of piano playing, theory, reading music, harmony, ear training, technique, pedagogy and more. My aim is to equip students to understand different music styles, build confidence, discover their unique voice and continue their musical journey independently. As Thelonious Monk said, the piano ain’t got no wrong notes.

I'm passionate about traversing genres since I have studied both jazz and classical to a high level, making this class perfect for creative pianists and composers who want to go beyond reading music off a piece of paper. Trinity/ABRSM curriculum upto Grade 8, can also be optionally included. Teaching effective practice methods is a priority, ensuring students progress confidently and without leaning on me. Please note, I only teach in person to maintain high standards of guidance in technique. This is not possible via video conferencing. Since everyone asks: yes, I did study at Berklee College of Music as an undergraduate for some time, and I do help students out with their audition preparation for various music colleges!

Currently, my students are between 14 and 74 years old— I believe that it’s never too late or too early to begin your musical journey. I look forward to your requests and have two vacant spots remaining in my roster for Winter 2025. Book now!

To learn how to sing, you will need to learn two aspects: the technical aspect related to body awareness and the purely musical aspect of language. My teaching method is based 50% on technique and 50% on practice:
the first part of the lesson will be dedicated to exploring vocal techniques and body awareness
the second half will be spent singing your favourite songs, gradually putting into practice what we have done previously.
Every student is different, and singing is the most subjective instrument there is, as it is composed of flesh and bones, so the lessons will be tailored to your needs.

Hey there! Do you want to start a new hobby? Do you already play the piano and you want to improve your skills with a creative approach to the instrument? Then I think I can help you!
I can teach you basic and advanced concepts of any style on the piano (classical, jazz, pop-rock...), and if you like improvisation and jazz then we get along even better!
I offer very personalized classes based on your level and interests. My approach to teaching strongly takes the student's CREATIVITY into account, but without forgetting that a good knowledge of MUSIC THEORY and PIANO TECHNIQUE are essential.

About my philosophy in teaching music:
In a creative field like music, education is a delicate matter. I firmly believe that a teacher must do everything possible to avoid suppressing the student’s personal voice. Each of us — regardless of age or skill level — has a unique approach to music, even before touching the instrument!
My goal is to help students discover their own musical identity at the piano, drawing on my experience and offering a solid theoretical foundation tailored to their interests and level.
That said, as in any discipline, there are no shortcuts in music. Passion and dedication are essential to achieving meaningful results. Furthermore, a solid technical and theoretical foundation is indispensable, no matter your musical interests.
I look forward to sharing my deep passion for music with you. Feel free to reach out for more information!
