Born in Cuba, he studied at the "Manuel Saumell" Academy and at the prestigious Cuban conservatory "Amadeo Roldán" in Havana. He quickly began playing with Cuban artists such as the "Enrique Jorrín" Orchestra, Rubén González, Pablo Milanés, Silvio Rodríguez, José M. Vitier, José Luis Quintana "Changuito", Tata Güines, Miguel "Angá" Díaz, Orlando "Maraca" Valle and with Ernán López-Nussa's 4tet he performed in renowned venues around the world. I've been a drummer for almost 20 years now, and I've graduated from both Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music (classical percussion) and Mons Royal Conservatory of Music (pedagogy). I've been teaching percussion, the drums and music theory for a little more than 4 years now. My students are always the real actors of my courses. No matter what instrument you are learning, be it percussion, the drums, marimba, vibraphone, or music theory, I always pay close attention to your personal goals, and together we devise a unique learning plan that adapts to your strengths as well as your weaknesses. My courses are aimed at anyone who is willing to put effort into learning music; children or adults, complete beginners or more advanced players who wish to receive additional feedback and insight. Autonomy, creativity, curiosity and listening skills are the true pillars of my methodology. We pay as much attention to technique as to musicality or listening skills. Additionally, I provide tailored exercises, on-demand sheet music and transcriptions according to your needs, as well as additional resources and recommendations on my website to nourish your musical life and journey.
