In 2023, I've obtained a Master degree in Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. I've achieved the C1+ levels in English, on the CEFR scale. I have 2 years of experience living in London, where I acquired RP (received pronunciation) and 7 years of experience in the International Academia (Amsterdam). My linguistic background gives me the capacity to explain the sounds and various processes of the language, from a perspective many natives do not know. In teaching, I practice the holistic approach. It is my belief that language is for people of every age and education, but I'm aware that everyone deserves a personal approach. In the first session, we always do a needs analysis and become acquainted, to make sure we click as people and will enjoy working away at your personal language goals. Over the years, my classes, have proven to raise the confidence levels of students. We practice knowledge in English, on 4 levels of proficiency: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. I will focus on your strengths and guide you to how to use those to your advantage in learning. We will elicit your potential. Trusted teacher: Looking for a highly experienced English tutor? Then you've come to the right place! I'm a former economics teacher with a full-time teaching qualification who, since 2021, has dedicated myself entirely to tutoring various subjects. I did this because it allows me to do what I love most: explaining material, building student confidence, and working together to improve grades. This way, I've helped around 200 students achieve passing grades or even pass exams over the past few years! So, while I'm a former economics teacher, my language skills also make me an excellent tutor in English, particularly in spelling, grammar, and reading comprehension. I can also be of great help in preparing for the English exam. I received a 9 (out of 10) in English in high school (pre-university education). Afterward, I pursued my bachelor's and master's degrees in English and studied in America for six months. The structure of the tutoring is always determined in consultation, but generally, I'm a big fan of starting on assignments as soon as possible. Why? Because then I can quickly see what you can already do and what you're still struggling with. I help with that. This way, I avoid unnecessary explanations of things you already know. Moreover, you can then immediately apply the explanations you do need to an assignment. This way, the material sticks much better. By the way, if you prefer tutoring at home, but I live too far away, consider trying online tutoring. I'm very experienced in that. I always give online tutoring via Google Meet, using a digital whiteboard where I can draw, color, paste, and type. This way, I can explain/demonstrate everything perfectly. I then share everything I've written on the whiteboard with you via WhatsApp so you can review all the explanations and solutions at your leisure after the lesson. Super convenient! Wow! I have to say I never had a language teacher like this! We spent the first meeting assessing the language level, and I don't mean A2 or B1, he evaluated my capabilities individually. In the evening he sent me countless multimedia sources that I could use to train all facets of the language at my level. He is very invested and expects the same from you, if you want a relaxed language class once a week that keeps you in your comfort zone and at the same level he is not for you. I decided to follow along and do as much as I could. Doing two classes a week I learned more Spanish than I would have ever thought to be possible!!! Furthermore, he takes care of your cultural education, a few weeks in the language journey we had a class at his house where he cooked an amazing dinner and we talked until late in the night. I recommend this amazing teacher 12/10!

Jorge is a very effective teacher. He makes the lessons fun and is quick to adapt to the different learning abilities of myself and my husband. He is very enthusiastic and has good lesson plans each week. We really enjoy our lessons.
