TEENAGERS' TIME! Releasing emotions, sharing thoughts, identifying 'what you need' and build on confidence and resilience.

This is an 8-session program aimed at the school ‘transition’ years of ages 12-19. The group sessions are facilitated following a broader Personal, Health, Social, and Economic Education (PSHE) curriculum focusing on gathering teens' needs, making them objects of reflection while leveraging neuroscience information and a playful approach. The program can also well serve as a taster for teachers/parents in separate sessions or workshops.

In particular, Teen's Time explores issues around:
- Working with concentration and focus; exploring how we can work with a wandering mind.
- Identifying emotions, how they work, and interact with thoughts and body sensations.
- Why humans worry, and how to support ourselves when we do so.
- Sleep: why it is important and what to do if we struggle to sleep well.
- Being with others: the opportunities and challenges of working skillfully with friendships and other relationships,

Each session includes:
- Learning about key areas of the brain and how they support us in our everyday activities
- Some introductory breathing practices
- Reflections
- Animations, short video
- Discussions
- Role play's and enactment's
- Exercises they can try in their own time

Teen's Time is inspired and informed by the several children-oriented programs of the Mindfulness in School Program (MisP) organization.

The feedback from children who have previously taken part in these programs is very positive. They report enjoying the group sessions and especially sharing their emotions with the other participants. They find learning and neuroscience helping them in a broad range of situations from being able to concentrate and focus more easily in school to helping them feel calmer in exams and competitions. Many have described sharing the learning with other family members and finding it helps them with their relationships with family and
friends.

About Me

I have a long cross functional career which started at very young age in the family entrepreneurship. Keen to experience international living, I lived and worked in London, in Spain and moved from Italy to The Netherlands where I experienced global cross-functional working roles and still have main residence.

As a constant learner, highly Emotional Intelligence individual who connects and mingle easily with people with curiosity, flexibility and ethics, I enjoyed to bring more than 30 years of experience in Cisco Learning and Development practice. I became a Motivational Coach while working within a ‘Generation Y’ project with graduate students from 55 countries in Cisco.

Generational factors, Education and social trends have always been my core interests. Trained as Motivational Coach I developed myself into the Mindfulness practice and its 2 wings of Awareness & Self-Compassion.

Mindfulness includes awareness as much as (self) compassion. Compassion has been the most recent scientific development in terms of mind development needs. In societies that encourage to constantly compete with each other, our sense of self-worth rises and falls according to our latest success or failure with almost no control from our side. Research have found that developing kindness and compassion for ourselves and others builds our confidence and resilience, helps create meaningful, caring relationship and promotes physical and mental health. Far from fostering emotional weakness, we now know that our brains are also hardwired to respond to kindness and compassion and we can therefore heal destructive emotional patterns. There it is, the alternative to a destructive self-esteem, a better and more effective path to happiness: self-compassion. ✅NLP TRAINING (NEURO-LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING): COMMUNICATION, SELF-IMAGE, BEHAVIORAL DECODING
Born following behavioral observation, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) designates a whole set of techniques (dissociation, reframing, etc.) and methods aimed at promoting the personal development of the individual. Neuro-linguistic programming is concerned with how humans function in a given environment, based on their behavioral patterns. Through a set of techniques and methods, NLP helps to change the way an individual perceives his environment. Indeed, each individual has a map of the world which is specific to him, and which is modulated by his beliefs and his conditioning. The purpose of NLP is to modify this map in order to enable the individual to achieve their goals more effectively. NLP therefore provides the necessary tools to make personal and structural changes, in order to create new potential for success. Neuro-linguistic programming is primarily concerned with "How to make it work well?" Rather than "Why is this not working?" ". It suggests recognizing the behaviors we adopt when communicating, and then making changes if desired. - “Programming” refers to the fact that we are conditioned by our environment which includes a system of beliefs and behaviors. - “Neuro” means that these programs are encoded in our neural circuits. - “Linguistics” refers to language, whether verbal or non-verbal. Examples of benefits of Neurolinguistic Programming: -Improvement of the mother-child relationship -Improved performance and decreased anxiety -Improvement of psychological difficulties and quality of life (..) The objective of this training: to target the tools which will support your communication, your image, will help you to decipher your interlocutor (...) to better achieve your objectives. Thus, after having exchanged with you about the essential blockages that you encounter, targeted areas for improvement, your objectives (...), pragmatic tools, techniques & methods will be put in place based on the initial data. Combined with these theoretical elements, their implementation will follow (for example, by filmed simulations or at the end of the session in real life). Course of a session: in conversational form, the practitioner identifies the problem and determines the objective with the client by asking a set of questions. He directs his questions towards solutions rather than the story that generated the situation. Then according to his practice, the practitioner uses the tools at his disposal in order to remove blockages and promote behavioral change, while deciphering the communication of the other as well as his own, thanks to specific NLP tools.
