I’m Martín, an engineer and AISTS Master’s student in Sport Management & Technology in Lausanne. I teach Math, Sciences, English, and Spanish with a coach’s mindset: clear goals, structured sessions, and steady progress.

Passionate about the Spanish language and culture, I offer lessons to share this pleasure. Having experience in secondary and post-compulsory education, including bilingual education, I give academic support and exam preparation courses (maturity, language exams). I also offer private lessons for those who want to master Spanish for personal reasons (learning for fun, to get by better when traveling or to be able to communicate with friends or family members ...) or who want improve their level for professional purposes. Besides, I also like to work with children. In Switzerland, I have noticed that there is a strong demand for learning Spanish among "half Spanish speaking" families. These very specific linguistic situations interest me a lot and I invest in them with pleasure.
I like to work with various activities to find the methods that correspond to my students and to develop the different skills (communication, comprehension and writing). Dear Parents,

You have come here seeking help for your child, and you have made the right decision. Public schools play a crucial role in our education, but sometimes they lack the necessary resources to cater to each student individually.

I, too, experienced a challenging academic journey for this very reason. My struggles were not greater than those of others, but the rigid schedule limited my ability to fully flourish. Fortunately, with the support of my parents, I had the opportunity to attend a private school and fulfill my childhood dream of becoming a chemist.

I am now a chemist who holds a degree from EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology), and on April 11, 2019, I successfully defended a doctoral thesis in experimental physics at the University of Geneva (UNIGE).

However, all this knowledge is only valuable if it can be effectively communicated. As you know, communication is an essential aspect of teaching. There are teachers who can be uninteresting, and then there are others whose passion is contagious. I have often observed that teachers who manage to ignite their students' interest take the time to provide context for what they teach. This approach often sparks curiosity in students, leading them to engage willingly.

Your child's studies are a serious matter, you are right to look for solutions.

Third-year physics student at EPFL Lausanne.

The courses are aimed in particular at university students, but also at secondary school students. For those attending EPFL, I can give classes in person. Otherwise, I am also available for online courses. The topics and course delivery are agreed with the students according to their specific needs. They can include both theoretical explanations and the carrying out of practical exercises.

From my own experience, I have found that everyone can understand the most complex concepts, you just need to adopt the right approach and teaching method, which varies from person to person. As it is not always possible to make this important distinction in general courses, my intention is to provide those who need it with help in catching up with the program by filling in gaps and/or doubts. I do not favor a mnemonic approach, but rather a deep understanding of the subject.

Je commence par te demander de me guider dans ton raisonnement et ton approche, et je te corrige s'il y a quelque chose qui n'est pas bien à ce niveau. Si tu coinces, je te pose des questions pour te guider vers la solution sans te la dire directement. Si ce n'est pas suffisant, on fait l'exercice ensemble de façon guidée dans l'espoir que tu pourras résoudre un exercice du même type seul(e) dans le futur. Je peux également trouver des exercices intéressants et les donner à mes élèves. Tous les étudiants jusqu'à un niveau bachelor universitaire inclus sont bienvenus. I recently graduated with a Master's degree in Mathematics from EPFL, where I also worked as a student assistant for 4 years, notably for the CMS (Special Mathematics Course), the MAN (Upgrade), as well as for several first-year Bachelor's courses. I also served as a corrector for multiple exam sessions and wrote a handout for a course for Master's students in Mathematics at EPFL. Through these experiences, I had the opportunity to support many students in successfully completing their first year, often considered one of the most demanding.

Today, I offer private math lessons for all levels, from compulsory school to the federal maturity, as well as for Bachelor students needing support in subjects with a strong mathematical component.

Passionate about teaching, what I appreciate above all is seeing students' progress, their confidence and their growing understanding.
