Hey there! My name is Yorgos and I am a guitar performer and instructor. Originating from Greece I embarked on musical journey to the Netherlands because of its reach musical scene. For the past eleven years I have been pursuing my musical career in the city of Rotterdam and have been teaching in various musical styles and ages. At the age of fourteen, I picked up a guitar, and two decades later, it feels like an extension of my soul. With over twenty years of experience strumming and shaping melodies, I’ve spent eleven of those years sharing my passion as a private instructor and performer. My musical journey has led me to teach a diverse range of students—from seven-year-olds to adults—covering everything from the pop and blues to the soulful depths of rock, jazz, funk, and folk. During my studies at the Royal Conservatory I learned the how work with the basics of the Kodaly solmisation system and In addition I taught ensemble lessons at the International School of The Hague. Further on, I got the opportunity to develop my knowledge on music theory, and gained experience with rhythmic, melodic solfège and sightreading. These are topics I always like to include in my lessons, because I find them very important not only for the personal growth of each musician, but also for the deeper connection they create between the musician and the instrument. Finally, even though I like incorporating all the elements mentioned above into my lessons I foremost focus on tailoring the lessons around the needs of every student and helping in any way I can their growth of musical curiosity. Violin private (or small group) lessons are offered in classical, traditional, and rebetiko violin, classical theory, Makam theory and improvisation for all ages, from beginners to advanced levels. The lessons are taught by a qualified violinist (Degree in classical violin, Orfeio conservatory of Athens, Greece) and bachelor student of CODARTS Academy (Rotterdam, Netherlands) - World music (Ottoman violin) with four years of teaching experience. There is also the option to learn theory, solfège. Bio: Yvonne was born in Kavala in 1998. She began her violin studies at the age of seven under the guidance of Z. Zlateva. She studied classical violin and music theory and obtained her diploma with "highest honors" in 2022 from the Orpheus Conservatory in Athens, under the guidance of her teachers, M. Plesti and D. Semsis. Since 2023, she has been a student at Codarts WMDC (Rotterdam, Netherlands), pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Turkish music-Ottoman violin (teacher: Burak Savas). She has been a member of many orchestras as well as various music ensembles and workshops (music ensemble with A. Liakakis and T. Gouvelis, classical violin with M. Szlezer, experimental violin with F. Siotas, composition and orchestration with V. Papadopoulos, oriental violin with G. Papaioannou, M. Kouloumis, composition and orchestration with C. Erdogan, M. Additionally, she is a graduate student at the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her first album, titled "Myrra," with T. Kofodimos, was released in December 2023. She has taught classical violin at the Pefki Municipal Conservatory, the Athens Conservatory, the Trofonio Conservatory of Livadeia, and has four years of experience teaching private lessons to students of all ages. My idea: Each lesson is unique and tailored to the student's needs. We can adjust the lesson according to what each person desires: from classical technique, exercises, and repertoire, to Maqam theory, taqsim, traditional/rebetiko/Ottoman repertoire, and of course, improvisation. My fundamental principle is that technique comes first, but what's important is that musical knowledge is not sterile but enjoyable. You'll learn how to move your limbs to play a nice drum groove, you'll discover the rudiments on the snare-drum which later you will start apply to the drumset. You will learn to recognize which instruments in the drumset makes you fall in love for the drum beat of your favorite tune. Also you will learn how to read rhythm and a drum score! Very soon you'll be playing along your favorite song!Let's get it started!!! Have you played for a while and you would like to improve your skills and to learn new rhythms? Good!I'll do my best to help you improving your actual skills. Together, we'll look at the diverse hand and foot techniques exist as tools to improve our own sound on the drumset. I did my bachelor's in guitar performance at Berklee College of Music where I specialized in Jazz, and hold master's degrees from Yerevan State Conservatory and Royal Conservatoire Antwerp where I specialized in Composition and Electronic music. While my background is in Jazz my interests have always been broad and I'm happy to work with students at a variety of levels of experience, stylistic backgrounds and interests. Whether you are new to music and to the guitar and want to just learn the basics and strum the chords to some songs or are already interested in more advanced techniques and challenging pieces I'm sure with my background, education and experience that I can be a helpful resource for you.
