I hold Bachelor and Master's degrees in music, double bass and composition and have studied at schools in Birmingham, Paris and Berlin. Our lessons are based around the areas you are most interested in developing, and together we come up with a plan to help you move closer to your goals and goals, whether that be learning specific songs or repertoire, being able to improvise basslines or solos, improving techniques etc. I am open to all ways of learning at all levels, from beginners to professionals. I also offer free optional audio or video feedback between lessons which can serve as useful reminders of ideas, techniques, exercises etc. or just to check in. Instrumental lessons are relaxed and can include theory, composition and improvisation from the beginning to help develop well-rounded musical skills. I teach both fundamental concepts and creative techniques, while supporting you in the development of your artistic project I also compose music for media (trailers, films, ads, games, etc) and perform live focusing on sound exploration and experimental performance. Sam is an amazing teacher, patient and open to the student's goals and suggestions. His approach is more technical than theoretical but will nonetheless get anyone willing to learn up to speed on the basics into more advanced notions. He assessed what I was already able to do on the guitar to fill the gaps and help me progress into further fields. So far he's taught me the electric guitar, a bit of bass and piano and I'm very happy about all of it.
