76 drums teachers in The Netherlands

Trusted teacher: I teach in my studio at home (in my backyard) on Thursday (afternoon and evening), Friday (idem) and on Saturday afternoon. There is still some room for new students. This also has to do with the way I teach at home. Many students have lessons every two weeks or even every three weeks (only a few people every week). The learning frequency is determined by the student himself. I do not expect payment in advance, but for example that at the beginning of a new month the actual lessons from the previous month will be transferred (if you cancel more than 24 hours in advance, no tuition fees will be charged). Lessons are given in all possible existing styles and, if desired, tailored to the taste of the student concerned. The studio has two complete drum sets and various percussion instruments (congas, bongos, cowbells etc.), in addition to good professional recording equipment. On the internet (Dropbox) I have put a lot of play-along numbers in addition to pre-programmed technical exercises. The pleasure of playing drums or percussion comes first, in addition to advancing in playing level and possible employability in bands. Lessons are given individually to all levels; from absolute beginners to aspiring candidates for a conservatory education (in which the various (historical) drum techniques will be discussed extensively). For many years I have been working as a percussion teacher at the Lindenberg Cultural Center in Nijmegen and at the Arnhems Conservatory (ArtEZ) alongside work as a freelancer (studio) musician.
Drums
Trusted teacher: I am a classical percussionist and a drummer, with many years of teaching and playing experience. I completed a Bachelor and a Master course in classical percussion in Italy, now I am studying a Master in Jazz & Pop drums at the HKU in Utrecht. I have an excellent knowledge of musical theory due to my studies and I love teaching because sharing my passion with others is important to me. I have experience teaching many students, between the ages of 5 and 50, since I was 18. I taught in two music schools, led projects in kindergartens and gave percussion instrument lessons in high schools. I trained students as percussionists in two school orchestras. Additionally, I used to write and produce learning materials with my students, to encourage accessible learning. My main teaching objective is to help students to find their personal way of playing and studying, without forgetting the most important thing; having fun. I understand that music should be fun, and those students not having fun will not get the best results. I usually start my lesson with the basics such as reading music, holding sticks and posture. I evaluate the student’s strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to reflect and evoke healthy self-criticism, to help them improve with a positive attitude.  I always try to inspire my students, and at the same time I am inspired by them, as by playing music together we can learn a lot from each other. Whilst my students have learned a lot from me, likewise, I have learned a lot from my students and this has been very valuable to my development.  I believe I would be an asset to you, because I am a flexible, open minded, experienced teacher.

Trusted teacher: Hello everybody! Welcome to my profile! Have you always wanted to know more about rhythm, percussion and drums? Then you are in the right place! :) My name is Giovanni, I'm an italian percussionist currently living in The Netherlands and studying at Codarts music school in Rotterdam. Latin music is the field I explored and studied the most, especially music coming from Cuba and Brazil: two different and at the same time similar worlds that boast an incredible and extremely interesting music culture. Talking about Cuban music, my main instruments are congas, bongos and timbales, together with all small percussion (guiro, maracas, clave, shekere). I will guide you through the different music styles that developed in this wonderful island during the past 200 years, such as salsa, son, rumba, cha-cha-cha, mambo, songo among many others. About the Brazilian side, I can teach you how to learn to play the pandeiro, in all its different styles and rhythms, together with the timbau, the repique, the dobras, the surdo and many other instruments that belong to this amazing tradition. In my musical career, I also got to play and studied other types of percussion that belong to other traditions. To name one, the cajon, originally coming from Perù and later incorporated in spanish flamenco, is another fascinating instrument, and incredibly versatile when it comes to play many styles of music, especially western pop and funk music: it can really function as a substitute for the drums! Talking about drums, I will be happy to guide you through the study of this marvelous instrument as well, starting from the basic techniques until the study of all the rhythmic possibilities that this instrument gives. If you're interested, don't esitate to contact me! (more info below :) )

Francesca is a fantastic drum teacher. She is very flexible too. In the first lesson, after I briefly played a groove, she showed in what way I can improve. I am sure that people of all levels can learn from her. The location is also pretty nice, though a good teacher is of course more valuable.

Giacomo

The lesson went well. Giacomo is willing to explain everything and answer questions if there are any. Of course, there's still the work that you must do yourself, but the option to focus on the genre of music that you find appealing, is helpful for keeping the motivation to improve.
