From 26 € /h

With a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and a master's student in biochemistry and molecular and cellular biology, I offer private chemistry lessons covering the concepts taught in secondary school. Having myself taken a strong science course (8 hours/week in 3rd/4th grade and then 10 hours/week in 5th/6th grade) in secondary school, as well as general, organic and analytical chemistry courses at university, I reviewed a wide range of chemistry concepts during my studies.
The courses can therefore cover a wide variety of subjects, such as stoichiometry, chemical bonds, concentration calculations, oxide-reduction reactions, organic chemistry, acids-bases, etc.
Extra information
You tell me in advance what is the precise subject you want to explore, so that I can prepare the course on this subject and make sure to make it the most pleasant and interactive for you / your child. You can also send me materials that you already have at your disposal, to facilitate the implementation of the course.

About Me
I am a 22-year-old student with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and currently in a master's degree in biochemistry and molecular and cellular biology. Through these courses, I want to pass on what I have learned during these years, to those who would like it and / or need it. I'll do my best to make this as enjoyable and interactive as possible, in short so that you can love biology (and science in general) as much as I love it! A friend once told me "that I could create a YouTube channel", after explaining part of a course on photosynthesis to her (by video, confinement required).
Education
I obtained my CESS in June 2017, strong science option (10 hrs / week). I then started a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from which I graduated in June 2020. I am now doing a master's degree in biochemistry and molecular and cellular biology.
Experience / Qualifications
I don't have any particular experience to teach. However, I followed a babysitting training with the Ligue des Familles, a fairly broad training which gave me a lot of elements for interaction with children and adolescents in general. I also have professional experience, I worked in small supermarkets (Carrefour express and proxy Delhaize). From the point of view of the content of the courses I offer, I have followed the training necessary for the in-depth acquisition of these skills.

With a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and a master's student in biochemistry and molecular and cellular biology, I propose to help you improve your knowledge in biology and / or help your children fill in their gaps.
The courses can cover a wide variety of subjects, such as: the cell and its structures, Mendelian genetics, the principles of biological evolution, molecular biology (DNA replication, transcription into mRNA and translation into proteins) , biochemistry (fundamental metabolisms, protein structure), the complex systems of our body (nervous, respiratory, immune, hormonal, renal, etc.), biomes and ecosystems, cell divisions (mitosis and meiosis), microbiology, etc.

My lessons are aimed at students in primary school, secondary school, and university (depending on the program and course). I was fortunate to have a very broad background in the exact sciences thanks to my civil engineering studies. My lessons can therefore cover chemistry (kinetics, equilibria, mass balances, etc.), mathematics (analysis, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, probability, differential equations, etc.), and physics (electricity, mechanics, thermodynamics, etc.). Before starting private lessons, I usually ask for a description of the student's current course so that I can best prepare the sessions.

My studies also instilled in me a problem-based learning approach. My teaching method is therefore primarily practice-oriented, as the most important thing in the exact sciences is being able to solve any type of problem. And to do that, you have to do as many as possible. During my studies, I realized that the best way to understand a subject is by doing exercises on it. However, you still need to have some foundational knowledge. That's why I usually start with a brief review of the subject and provide a formula sheet with the important formulas. Then, I work through one or more typical exercises with the student, explaining the steps involved. Finally, the student will do exercises on their own, using the formula sheet (using formulas is the best way to remember them). I'm there to assess their understanding, answer their questions, and help them when needed.

Graduated from lower secondary education in natural sciences (chemistry - physics - biology), I offer individualized teaching, and help with homework, questions and exams.

I taught for 5 years in two French establishments as a science teacher (physics, chemistry and biology), in classes ranging from 6th grade to 5th grade.

Having worked for an Irish company for over 2 years, I also have a solid grounding in English.

I only teach remotely.

4th year student researcher in pharmacy, I have more than 3 years of experience in the field of student support, tutoring and teaching.
I will be able to ensure a remarkable progression in scientific subjects whatever the initial level of the student through a methodology and a safe and effective monitoring system.
I worked in French high schools and I was part of the training team at the International Mathematical Olympiad where I trained a lot of students to be the best in their fields.
My goal is to ensure quality academic support in all scientific subjects up to the point where the student becomes autonomous and capable of scientifically thinking critically and correctly.

An experienced teacher, I tailor my course on the specific needs of my students, so they can reach the desired level in math/physics/chemistry as quickly as possible. My approach is practical, and goal-oriented (examination, certificate, etc.).

I give courses to high-school and bachelor level students. I speak French, English, and Dutch.

About :
An engineer by background ("ingénieur civil"), I have become an education professional with a significant experience teaching math, physics and chemistry both in the classroom (lycée Mater Dei, Woluwé-Saint-Pierre), and outside the classroom.

I resolve issues that students have for instance because of pre-existing learning gaps, or difficulties to understand the complex aspects of scientific courses in the classroom.

I offer students methods to better understand and approach scientific subjects as a whole. To this end, the course is based on a reminder and possibly a supplement of what has been seen in the course and then comes the exercise phase. An exam-type test is composed every two weeks to allow the student to confront the exam.

Experience chemistry and math tutor (Algebra) for school students of all ages. I have the most experience (more than 3 years) with students of different age in IB, A, AS and SAT levels. Can teach a broad range of topics in General, Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry.

I hold Master Degree in Chemical Engineering and right now I'm working in Research and Development on Scientist position.

I'm always focused on student's weak points and put as much effort as possible to enhance them. My approach to classes is interactive, so that I'm not the only one who speaks during the class. Student is engaged as active participant who can always share its doubts and ask questions. Tracking student's progress and giving further inputs for its educational development.

Online classes are done with virtual board and all notes are shared with student in the end of the class.
