About Me
- I was born in 1982 in Brussels and started playing guitar in September 1996. I have performed extensively, including tours in a variety of bands, as a rhythm guitarist, lead guitarist, and composer. I have studied with private teachers or on my own, carefully selecting my books and teaching methods. I can teach pop and rock guitar in the broadest sense of the term, whether through pick playing or finger-picking. In addition, I have extensive knowledge of production, mixing, editing, and electronic music, which makes me very knowledgeable about effects pedals for electric guitarists. However, I teach both folk and electric guitar. By word of mouth, I have been giving private lessons since 2008, alongside my life as a professional musician.

-Completely passionate about Harmony, Sound and Composition, I love to share my knowledge and I want to pass on to you everything that can help you in your life as a musician, whether for your simple pleasure of playing or also if you want to become professional. I am a teacher attentive to the needs of my students and I will take you in the direction and towards the goal you wish to achieve throughout the course. I like curious and motivated students but I will adapt to your needs and my program will be adapted to your desires. That said, it is certain that if you want to learn more and more about the guitar and its geography of chords, scales and arpeggios, with the love of improvising and finally playing your own compositions, you have come across the right teacher.

-My way of working with each student is both personalized and multiple. 3. I obviously rely on certain methods and specialized books on the study of the guitar to deploy my course. But most of the time I rely on my experience and after two lessons we define a medium-term program for the student. Being at your service, I provide you with copies of all kinds of documentation on the guitar (books and methods of scales, arpeggios, chords. I create videos in the form of tutorials, the course can also be filmed, in addition I use some softwa. re specific to the guitar of which I provide copies to the student from the first lesson. For those who specialize in the electric guitar, I also give advice to students on the effects - amplifiers and guitars to use to sound of this or that material. I am a very organized person, you will see immediately if my intuitive approach to teaching music privately suits you or not. If you or your child would like to learn a specific repertoire of pieces and songs, we can discuss the work plan together.

You are all welcome to my course from 7 to 77 years old, whether you are a beginner or a good musician or even an experienced musician!
Education
A self-taught musician, I nevertheless attended several private teachers: Désirée Duyck, Sacha Maric and Gregory Bordat. I have also taken piano and harmony lessons with a multitude of teachers. In addition, I attended the contemporary music class in Mons for two years (2006-2008).

Are you passionate about music?
Are you an accomplished musician or DJ and want to increase your production possibilities?
Or are you just new and creative and don't know where to start?
Are you stuck and often having trouble finalizing a song?
Do you want a clear and structured follow-up without stuffing yourself with daunting manuals, confused youtube tutorials or overpriced training?

If you recognize yourself in these questions, I suggest you accompany you in the vast world of audio-digital and music production in home studio.
Because yes, nowadays, you can do everything from home, from the idea of a song to its distribution on streaming platforms.
But on the other hand, despite the increasingly efficient hardware and software innovations, it is very difficult to find your way around, especially when you are just starting out.
I know, I've been there too.

Typical course and examples of courses:

Each student has different expectations and desires.
The advantage of private lessons is that I can adapt to your profile, whatever your starting level or your age.
In general, the first free course will allow you to get to know each other better and identify precisely your objective and your blockages.
I can then better respond and identify the key steps to achieve.

The theory is good but the practice is a thousand times more important.
We quickly set foot in the stirrup.
You are in front of the machine ready to do battle, and I stay by your side to guide you.

The courses then take place according to various learning axes determined together according to your profile:

- Discussion on the best material for your project, according to your personal objectives and your budget: Hardware, DAW, plugins...
- Familiarize yourself with DAW (“Digital Audio Workstation”): I work mainly on Ableton Live or Protools.
I can possibly teach you the basics (synthesis, composition, audio processing, signal flow) on Logic Pro.
Because it is important to familiarize yourself with the tool as best as possible and not to lose motivation in the face of what can look like a "gas factory" all in all quite intimidating for a novice in the matter.
This revolves around the following themes:
- Quick handling of any virtual instrument (VST Synth, sampler)
- How to record: your voice, external sounds, any other instrument (choice of microphone and placements, stereo, what to consider, mistakes to avoid ...)
- Compose a first song quickly
- Musical composition (tone, rhythm, melody and chord construction)
- Audio processing adapted to sound design or mixing (EQ, Compression, Reverb, Distortion, Sidechain, layering, automations...)
- Post-production (Mixing & Mastering): depending on your level,
Introduction to these trades:
What sets it apart from production?
Awareness of studio acoustics
Know how to read and interpret a waveform and frequency spectrum
Learn critical listening
More advanced course: work methodology, level management, Loudness, Mid / side, referencing

The benefits of medium-term support:

- obtaining commercially viable professional quality music, whatever your initial background and musical style
- greater clarity and autonomy in your future choices: you will be able to ask yourself the right questions
- an organization in all circumstances to remain productive and without inspiration breakdown
- and, overall, a progression in your artistic journey.

What are the steps to compose an entire song? Where do we start? How to make it sound "pro"? How can I reproduce the sounds I imagine? How do we know when we're done? How do you know which tools and techniques to use and when?

The questions are many when it comes to producing a track and even more are the answers, but don't panic! There is a solution.

After several years of making music, I ended up synthesizing a step-by-step method that allows you to produce a song from the first ideas to the final result that you can make listen to your loved ones, or your fans!

In particular, you will learn to:

- Prepare your work session to save time and make your life easier
- Compose and produce percussion that sounds professional and rich
- Find interesting chord sequences even without knowing how to play an instrument
- Find melodies that stick in your head
- Build an arrangement and finish a piece when you're stuck and can't move on
- Pre-mix your track so it sounds great wherever you listen to it
- Know which plugin to use and when

To take this course, you don't have to know how to play an instrument, master recording software or have the same software as me. No matter your level, I will teach you all the techniques you need to know to compose songs that you can be proud of by adapting to what you already know and conforming to your desires and your objectives.

In other words, tell me what your needs are and I'll adapt my lessons accordingly :)

Glad to have you as a student,

Arthur.

PS: Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any other questions
