I teach maths at all levels. Studying engineering for 4 years now, I am passionate about the mathematical universe and its applications of all kinds (optimization, probabilities, numerical methods, statistical models, physics). Currently in Master's degree in Management Engineering at Solvay. I am the type of teacher who does my best to make lessons fun or no longer a task. Knowing the student and establishing a good working atmosphere is, in my opinion, essential. I try not just to teach a course to the student but also a good method/work ethic.

I first identify which points are problematic in order to increase the efficiency of the courses. Then, depending on the student's requests and difficulties, I re-explain certain poorly understood theoretical concepts and solve exercises with him. For the theory, I make sure to explain the material as I would have liked to have been explained to me during my studies and I review the points of the course from new angles in order to facilitate understanding. For the exercises, I first let the student suggest his method of solving because each problem can be approached in several ways and it is much more productive to start from the student's ideas. I favor understanding by heart because I consider that memorization is only rarely necessary in math and science. Once the material is perfectly assimilated, we retain it much longer than if we study it without understanding it. My engineering studies allowed me to better link the abstract concepts of mathematics and science to concrete problems. If the student needs it, I can therefore easily give many visual and intuitive examples in order to speed up understanding. Mathematics is a passion for me. My objective is therefore to make them more digestible and to convey my interest in this subject. Mathematics is not as complicated as it seems. The whole point is to approach them from another angle, starting with mastering the essential points of the course before training with more or less abstract exercises.
