I find languages very exciting. They integrate us globally and help us understand the world and enjoy cultures through different perspectives, developing a deeper connection with a dynamic society. Teaching has been a passion for me for many years and sharing my knowledge with people who want to learn and speak new languages has become one of my main goals.

As a native Spanish speaker from Venezuela, and having lived in many parts of the world, I focus on speaking clearly and as neutral as possible, depending on the student's needs. I learned English at a very young age and developed strong language skills that helped me become an English and Spanish tutor in my alma mater, William Paterson University of New Jersey. I have also taught English and Spanish in academies and privately in Venezuela and the US, as well as in Mexico to children, teenagers and adults at every level, from beginner to corporate, technical and exam preparation.

I have been playing electric guitar for 16 years and I was a member of several rock bands before. In my courses, I mostly focus on improvisation over bluesy, jazzy or simple rock chords. For those beginners, I start with some basics until we reach the required level to improvise. Are you a beginner who has started to learn guitar on his own, and can't see the trees for the wood anymore? Or do you already have some experience and want to learn something new? Then you've come to the right place!

About myself:
I have been playing both guitar and bass guitar for 8 years. I also have a solid foundation in music theory. I took lessons with Kristof Neyens (rock school leuven) for several years, and now I would like to share my experience.

Classes:
Depending on your preference, we can draw up a lesson plan together with individual assignments. I also try to work as much as possible with the genres that you like to listen to yourself, this is of course more motivating (after all, you don't want to try to teach Mozart to a Metal fan ;))

My approach is certainly not like that of the 'music theory' at the academy. From your first lesson you will immediately start playing songs. I only use music theory if it is really necessary or if you would like to delve into it.

Practical:
I follow distance education so I can actually go at any time of the week, online lessons are also a possibility.

My name is Davy, I am 34 years old and have had the guitar in my fingers for 25 years. I graduated from the Music Academy Tongeren for both classical and electric guitar. In addition, I attended 2 years of Conservatory Jazz at LUCA School of Arts Campus Lemmens Institute.
