The classes are customized for all levels, and all the necessary material will be provided to the student. Both videos of each class, as well as partitures / notes of harmony and musical theory created by myself.

In each lesson, a part of theory of a specific scale (Bulerías, Alegrías, Tangos, Soleá, Rumba...) is taught and then practiced on the guitar. After the class, the videos of what we have worked on the the guitar with, will be sent in a video format, so that the student studies the notes of theory and the score at home.

The lessons also provide a good practice to accompany the singer (cante) or the dancer (baile) and singing audios with guitar / without guitar are provided, in order to practice and correct mistakes, if they are made.

On the student ́s request, there is a possibility of learning harmony and musical theory, so that the student can be independent and be able to improvise and compose.

The classes are completely personalized, depending on the student's objectives and level.

About Me

I am a guitarist, composer and teacher of Flamenco/Classical/Jazz styles.
For many years, I have dedicated myself to teaching guitar classes, combining it with different performances and show creations, performing in countries such as Spain, England, Turkey and Switzerland.

Education

Superior studies (in Flamenco) at Eduardo Rebollar's Academy.
In Jerez de la Frontera, I studied with International Flamenco guitarists such as Miguel Salado, Niño Jero (Periquín), Juan Diego Mateo... as well as accompanying the dancer (baile) at the academy of dance of Miguel Angel Heredia and "los cernicalos" with the Jerez dancer (bailaora) Ana María Lopez.

At an academic level, I´ve trained in modern guitar and jazz at the “L'Espai Musical” School of Music (Valencia). I have participated in various courses and seminars on flamenco guitar technique and accompaniment to dance with Miguel Pérez and Lidia Valle (Seville) ; Oscar Herrero "Auditori de Torrent" (Valencia); harmony and composition with Rafael Riqueni "SGAE" (Valencia).

In 2015 I obtained the AIE scholarship for musical training at the “L´Espai Musical” school in the specialty of modern guitar.

Folk or classical acoustic guitar.

The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation.

For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...).

For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...).

Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points:

I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard.

My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student.

Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you.

A bit about me:

Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'. The video shown below is from my stint playing and directing 'After Midnight', a show set to the music of the Duke Ellington Big Band.

Welcome to my profile!

My name is Fabiola, and I am a violin and viola teacher and children’s orchestra conductor based in Maastricht. I work with students of all ages, creating a supportive, creative, and personalized learning environment where each student can grow at their own pace and enjoy making music.

As an active orchestral performer, I bring my professional experience on stage directly into my teaching. I help students develop a solid technique while fostering musicality, expression, and confidence. I use a variety of teaching approaches, including Suzuki, ABRSM, Trinity, and Galamian methods, adapting them to each student’s age, personality, and goals.

In my lessons, I also focus on how to practice effectively at home, tackle challenging passages, and prepare confidently for public performances.

I began my musical journey with El Sistema in Venezuela and continued my studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, specializing in both performance and pedagogy. I completed a Master’s in Violin Performance with a focus on Spanish music, as well as a symphonic master’s in collaboration with the Spanish Radio and Television Orchestra (Orquesta RTVE).

I currently collaborate with the Philharmonie Zuidnederland and the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, while also teaching private violin and viola lessons. I believe that discipline and enjoyment go hand in hand, and I enjoy guiding each student in their artistic and personal growth.
